Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced that it will now declare the result of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) tier 1 2019 on November 5, 2019. The new result date has been published in the new status report published at ssc.nic.in. Initially, the result was supposed to be out yesterday, on October 25, 2019.
The commission will then conduct SSC MTS 2019 paper 2 on November 24, 2019. Initially the exam was scheduled to be held on November 17, 2019. However it was only two days ago that a notification was published about postponement of the exam.
Ever since the exam date change notification, it was predicted that the SSC MTS result will also be delayed. However it was anticipated that result will be delayed by 7 days only, just like the next exam. On the contrary, SSC has postponed the result by 11 days.
The commission reported that they had to change the exam date due to administrative reason. Notification was devoid of any further explanation regarding the matter. As far as changing the date for result is concerned, no reason has been provided for it by the commission. There are no news reports also on the matter. It is speculated that the processing of result for 19.18 lakh candidates is taking time.
Whereas 38.58 lakh candidates had applied for SSC MTS 2019, only 49.73% had appeared. The test was held in 34 states and UTs, in 146 cities, at 337 centres, over 39 shifts.
Paper 1 or tier 1 was a computer based test with four sections namely general english, general intelligence and reasoning, numerical aptitude, general awareness. Each section consisted of 25 questions of 25 marks. Candidates will be getting 1 mark for every correct answer, as per the final answer key. Whereas 0.25 mark will be deducted per incorrect answer.
Marks scored in paper 1 shall be normalized to eliminate differences in marks caused by differences in difficulty level of the exam in diverse shifts.
Staff Selection Commission will publish the result at ssc.nic.in. There will be one result notification, and several different files containing list of candidates shortlisted for paper 2, region wise. Based on the result, only such candidates whose names will be in the result will be able to download SSC MTS paper 2 admit card from official websites of regional and sub-regional SSCs.
The next paper, paper 2 shall be subjective of 50 marks. It will be a 30 minutes duration exam with questions on short essay, letter in english or any language included in the 8th schedule of the constitution. This paper will however only be qualifying in nature.
Recruitment to the position of multi tasking staff by SSC is one of the few government job exams that are open for class 10th pass candidates. For this reason, such a large number of applications are received every time.
After SSC MTS 2019, the SSC MTS 2020 notification is scheduled to be released on June 2, 2020, and applications for the same will be accepted until July 15, 2020. Paper 1 for that recruitment will be held from October 26, 2020 to November 13, 2020. And its paper 2 will be held on March 1, 2021.
