The Economics Society of Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) is organizing the fourth edition of the National Economics Olympiad (NEO) 2021. This Olympiad is for nationwide schools and especially for the students of classes 11 and 12. Students who are willing to participate must complete the registration by October 15, 2021. The prelims of the NEO is scheduled to be held on October 17, 2021, while the finals will take place on October 24, 2021.

For completing the registration, students have to visit dare2compete.com. They have to pay a registration fee of Rs 200 for NEO. To bring in more participation, there is an early-bird offer using which students can register at just only Rs 180. However, the offer is valid only till September 25, 2021. The NEO is being organized in collaboration with Vedantu, an online learning platform. From each class, the top three participants will be awarded a cumulative cash scholarship of Rs 65,000. Certificates will also be given to every participant. In case of queries, students can contact Neeyati Fitkariwala at 9920816304 and/or Shristi Jain at 8144414460.

NEO’s preliminary round will comprise of four sections namely economic concepts, logical reasoning, case studies and data interpretation. Each of these four sections will cover 10 questions. For every correct answer, one mark will be awarded. Students must note that there is no negative marking in this round. However, the final round is sort of a surprise round. Students will receive the details about it only at the time of the test.

The prime motive of NEO is to provide the students with a platform where they can test their knowledge using practical units. NEO’s syllabus and overall design have been structured in such a way so that it can help students while they prepare for examinations. For some guidance, students will also receive a sample questions booklet that will comprise of the previous NEO papers along with more than 150 new questions. Post the Olympiad, the students will receive a performance analysis report that will help them to evaluate themselves.

SRCC’s Economics Society is also offering partial and complete financial aid to give better opportunities to students belonging to the underprivileged sections of society. The NEO will also help the students to expand their understanding of economics in terms of using its concepts in real-world applications. In 2020, the Olympiad received more than 6000 participants from 1200 schools and 400 cities. This participation was from 10 countries.
