RIMC Postpones Entrance Exam 2021 Date, Extends Application Form, Admit Card Delayed

RIMC has extended the deadline to register for the exam from April 30, 2021 to May 21, 2021 and interested candidates can register for the entrance test on rimc.gov.in.

Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) issued a public notice on April 26, 2021 regarding the RIMC Entrance Exam 2021. The notice was published on the official website rimc.gov.in. According to the notice, the entrance exam was previously scheduled on June 05, 2021. However, due to the impending circumstances, the exam stands postponed. Moreover, authorities have also delayed the date to release the exam admit cards. New examination date shall be decided once the situation stabilises and the same shall be notified on the official website.

Eligible candidates were permitted access to register on the official website rimc.gov.in and submit the application form on or before April 15, 2021. However, RIMC further extended the deadline to April 30, 2021. The prevailing COVID-19 conditions has forced the RIMC to again, extend the registration deadline to May 21, 2021. Thereafter, authorities have requested the States and UTs accept the application forms till the newly prescribed deadline.

Candidates who haven’t applied for the entrance exam now have close to a month to apply for the RIMC Entrance Exam 2021. The military college situated in Dehradun only admits boys to Class 8 at the institute. Therefore, students who have passed Class 7 are eligible to apply for the exam. Furthermore, students must have studied or passed Class 7 from a recognised institution.  

RIMC has also specified the age criteria to apply for the entrance test. Accordingly, candidates must have completed at least 11 and a half years of age and must not be older than 13 years, as on January 01, 2022. In simple terms, candidates must be born on or between January 01, 2009 and July 01, 2010 to apply for the exam. Furthermore, no application regarding change of birth shall be entertained by authorities.

To apply for the RIMC Entrance Exam 2021, candidates are required to submit certain documents to the respective state governments. These documents include two passport-size photographs, domicile certificate of candidate, birth certificate, SC/ST certificate (if possible) and certificate from the school’s principal.

The certificate issued by the principal must contain the candidate’s photograph, date of birth and the class in which the candidate is studying. Previously, all applications were to reach the state government by March 31, 2021. However, given the postponement of exam, this deadline has also been extended.

RIMC 2021 Entrance exam comprises of a written exam and a viva-voce test. The written exam shall consist of three tests – English, Mathematics and General Knowledge. The English paper shall be of 125 marks, Mathematics of 200 marks and General Knowledge of 75 marks. The viva-voce test shall be of 50 marks. Candidates who clear the written exam shall be eligible to appear for the viva exam.
