State Education Department, Rajasthan has decided to go ahead with Rajasthan Board Class 10 and 12 exams as per reports published by a leading daily. Amid the growing scare of the pandemic in the state, the board is keeping a tab on the COVID situation in the state. This news was released a day before the department decided to postpone the RBSE practical exams that were expected to commence from January 17, 2022.
The source further divulged that Minister B D Kalla has issued strict guidelines for conducting the board exams on time that are slated to commence from March 03, 2022. Although, he is concerned regarding the worsening situation of the pandemic in the state at the same time he is in the favour of conducting the exam. Hence, in a bid to make sure that the safety of students is not compromised, the board has decided to conduct the exam with restrictions and SOPs.

This time at least 20 lakhs of students are expected to appear in class 10 and 12 board exams. However, in order to accommodate this high number of students, the board has issued guidelines to increase the number of centres from the present numbers i.e. 6074 centres. As per experts, this move shall ensure that all the SOPs and guidelines such as social distancing norms are been followed.
Other than this, reports also suggest that if a candidate is found to be showing COVID-19 symptoms such as high fever then he shall be asked to participate in the examination via the isolation rooms. Candidates who cannot appear for the examination citing ill health will be provided with the opportunity to re-appear in the examination again whenever it is held. This news has brought hope amongst candidates who were worried about the cancellation of the board exams yet again this year.
