The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) is conducting the Class 12 Practical Exams 2021 for regular students in the online written exam mode, as per latest media reports. Although the board is yet to take a final decision regarding the Class 12 theory papers of regular students yet, as per latest updates, it has been decided to conduct the practical exams of regular Class 12 students in the online written mode.
Schools have been directed by the state government to submit the practical marks latest by June 29, 2021. It may be noted that the practical exams for students of the vocational stream and NSQF subjects have already been conducted by the Punjab School Education Board. The practical exams of the regular Class 12 students, which was pending till now, is being taken from June 15 to 26, amidst the pandemic as per latest updates.
The online written mode of the exam has been adopted for conducting the practical exams amidst the pandemic in the aim of the safety and security of the students. Since it is not possible to hold physical exams in the usual way in school as educational institutes remain shut down.
The board has reportedly directed all schools to be diligent in submitting the practical marks by June 29, 2021. The responsibility to set the question paper of the practical exams has been entrusted to respective subject teacher as per directives of the Punjab School Education Board, latest reports state.
It is also being reported that the Punjab School Education Board has directed schools not to conduct practical exams for grading subjects. As such, practical exams for subjects such as Computer Science and Welcome Life are not being conducted this year by the PSEB. As per media reports, the state education minister Vijay Inder Singla was quoted stating earlier that the safety and security of students and teacher alike must be the top priority of the state government. Thus, the decision has been taken to conduct the practical exams in the online written mode.
While the practical exams for Class 12 students are being held, the state government of Punjab is yet to take a final decision regarding Class 12 exams for regular students. As per the earlier proposal, the exams were speculated to be conducted for three elective subjects only. This is because those who pass high school have to get admission to professional courses on the basis of the merit in the 10+2 level.
