The Karnataka Government has decided to postpone the practical examinations for II PUC students. As per the schedule released earlier, the board was all set to start with the practical exams from April 28, 2021, till May 18, 2021. In the wake of the rising COVID-19 cases in the state, the board has decided to postpone practical exams for II PUC students.
Karnataka 2nd PUC students should note that the board has only postponed the practicals, meanwhile, the theory examinations are going to be held as per the planned scheduled which is May 28 to June 16, 2021. The board will conduct the postponed practicals after the theory examinations are over.
The official statement as released by the Karnataka Board reads as, “Considering the requests from parents, teachers, and students to postpone the exams in the wake of a spike in the Covid-19 cases across the state…colleges have been directed to conduct practical exams after the completion of theory examinations”. Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar further added that the decision to postpone the practical exams was taken based on several requests made by stakeholders concerned with the process. He further advised the students not to get distracted by the change in schedule and instead should prepare better for the upcoming annual examinations.

According to the official notice released earlier, the board was to conduct the PUC II theory exams from May 24 to June 16 and SSLC (class 10) exams from June 21 to July 5, 2021. Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister, few days before also confirmed that the SSLC exams will be held in the state as per the schedule. He further added that a continuous and comprehensive evaluation program will be the deciding factor for the promotion of students from classes 1 to 9.
Students are advised to keep checking the official website of the board for all latest updates. Considering the current pandemic situation, various state board have postponed the examinations till June 1.
