Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) has announced the preliminary written exam for the post Junior Clerk. The exam will be held on September 22, 2019 from 10.30 am to 12 noon. And the admit card will be available for download from September 16, 2019 on the official website, ossc.gov.in.
Whereas the commission has released one notification about OSSC Jr Clerk admit card 2019, exam date, another notification is been published regarding revision of vacancies. The revised number of vacancies now stand at 132.
Earlier this month, vacancies were revised to 206. Through the notification dated September 6, 2019, OSSC had announced that it was putting the recruitment of Jr Assistants on hold, and is going ahead with the recruitment of Jr Clerks. For the same, it published a vacancy table. Now today, vacancies have again been revised. This time 74 vacancies of Jr Clerk by engineering-in-chief (rural works) have been cancelled. Now, the vacancies are, 44 for junior clerk in engineers-in-chief (rural water supply and sanitation), 28 for junior clerk in directorate of drugs control, and 60 vacancies are for junior clerk in chief-engineer minor irrigation.
How to download OSSC Jr Clerk admit card?
To download the admit card, candidates have to visit ossc.gov.in Monday onwards. Then click the tab “click here for online aplication” that is there on the top of the page. Then scroll down, and look for advertisement no. 3996/OSSC for Junior Assistant and Junior Clerk. Against it, click on registered user login. Finally, it leads to the login page, where one can login with user ID and password, and eventually download and print the OSSC Junior Clerk admit card 2019. Candidates have to download the admit cards, take a print out of it and carry it on their exam day.
The commission underlines that it will not send any admit card by post.
What is the exam pattern and syllabus?
The preliminary exam scheduled for next Sunday with be a 1.5 hour long exam of 100 marks. All questions will be on general awareness. All questions will be objective type. Questions will be on current events, history, geography, general science, constitution of India, human rights, basic computer skill test, english language, odia language, that may be expected from a 12th pass candidate and arithmetic of high school level will be asked in the exam.
The result of the prelims examination will be published in roll number order wise. The provisionally selected candidates will be eligible to appear in the Mains examination. The Mains paper will have three papers – English and Odia language, General knowledge, and Arithmetic and basic computer skills each of 100 marks. Those who qualify the Mains exam will have to appear in the computer skill test round which will be of 50 marks.
The reporting time, venue of the preliminary written examination will be conveyed in the admission letter / admit card. Candidates are advised to validate all the details mentioned in the admit card and abide through the instructions given on it. The admit card have to be positively carried on the exam day without which they will not be permitted to appear in the exam.
It is pertinent to note that the candidates belonging to PwD category who actually require to use scribe should take permission of the Commission well in advance by giving the details of the scribe along with disability certificate using the scribe and ID proof, admission letter, educational proof and ID proof of the scribe, undertaking regarding the qualification of the scribe signed by both the user and the scribe.
