Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has extended the last date to fill online form for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) admission 2020 for class 6th. Now, the new deadline to register at nvsadmissionclasssix.in is September 30, 2019 Previously, the last date to apply was September 15, 2019. Moreover, candidates who submit their form can submit details for phase-2, upto October 3, 2019.
The decision to extend JNV admission 2020 form for class 6 last date has been notified via a short message posted at nvsadmissionclasssix.in. It says, “Last date to register for Online Application of Class VI JNVST-2020 is extended up to 30th September 2019. The portal will be kept open for candidates who have registered on or before 30.09.2019 to submit details of Phase-II up to 3rd October 2019”.
Only the registration dates have been modified; rest schedule shall remain unchanged. Students will be able to download the JNV Selection Test, that is JNVST 2020, admit card from December 1, 2019, for phase 1. Those who will appear for the phase 2 can download theirs from March 1, 2020.
JNV online form for class 6 admission 2020 is available at nvsadmissionclasssix.in. Students may first go to the official website of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti navodaya.gov.in, and click “click here to apply for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test for Class VI (Session 2020-21)”. This leads to the class 6 admission website. Here, click the registration – phase 1 link.
To apply for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2020 for class 6, students need to first register, and then fill the online application form and submit it. There is no application cost of the exam.
Students who wish to take admission in class 6 in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas can apply. It is required that applicant is from the district where the JNV is open, he or she should be born between May 1, 2007 and April 30, 2011. Moreover, the student should be studying on class 5th in the session 2019-20 in a government or government aided or other recognized school, or B certificate competency course of NIOS in same district. Such students who were not promoted and admitted to class 5th before September 15, 2019, are not eligible for JNV admission 2020 for class 6th.
The JNVST 2020 is being held in two phases. Wherein there are two exam dates as per the location. January 11, 2020 is the scheduled exam date for all states and union territories except for those where it will be held in phase 2. The phase 2 exam date is April 11, 2020, when it will be held in the states of JnK, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Uttrakhand. The test will be held in phase 2 also in the following cities of these states: Arunachal Pradesh – Dibang valley, Tawang; Himachal Pradesh – Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla; West Bengal – Darjeeling.
On each exam date, the selection test shall be conducted from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm. The test will have three sections namely mental ability test, arithmetic test, language test. There will be 40 questions of 50 marks, 20 questions of 25 marks, and 20 questions of 25 marks respectively in these three sections. These sections will be of 60 minutes, 30 minutes, and 30 minutes respectively. Thus overall the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test 2020 will have 80 questions of 100 marks, to be done in two hours.
Phase 1 and phase 2 results will be declared by March 2020, and May 2020 respectively. The same will be available on the website, and offices of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, District Education Officer, District Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti of the Region. NVS will also publish the JNVST 2020 result at the website of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, navodaya.gov.in.
JNVs are established in 28 states, 7 union territories. They are run by the autonomous body NVS. Class 6 admission is through the JNVST, whereas class 9 and class 11 admissions are through lateral entry. JNV school education is free including board and lodging. The only cost is for uniform, textbooks for which one has to pay Rs 600 per month, for class 9th to class 11th students, towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi. SC, ST students, and girls whose family income is below poverty line are exempt.
