Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Limited has published an advertisement to recruit candidates for the vacant posts of Medical Officer. Desirous candidates can submit their applications for 33 vacancies. The online registrations have already started. Aspirants are suggested to send their applications before November 21, 2020. The posts that are advertised for Medical Officers are of Contract Medical Officer – Field Duty, Contract Medical Officer- General Duty, Contract Medical General Duty (Part-time) a Contract Medical Officer (Occupational Health- OH). Aspirants are recruited on contractual basis on full time and part-time basis till June 30, 2022. They get a monthly salary of Rs. 75,000 for Field Medical Officer, Rs. 72,000/- for General Duty Medical Officer and Medical Officer Occupational Health and Rs. 41,000/- for General Duty Medical Officer (Part-Time).
To apply for any of these posts, aspirants must have Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Those who have training in Occupational Health/ Occupational Medicine/ Public Health are preferred for Medical Officer Occupational Health post. As per ONGC, there is no maximum age limit for the eligibility.
Aspirants can submit their applications for ONGC recruitment through ongcindia.com. They have to download the applications from the website and send a scanned copy of the application to the conducting body. All the documents and application form should be sent to [email protected].
Along with the application form, candidates have to submit certain documents as well. The documents/ certificates include – dully-filled application form, 02 recent size passport, 10th class admit card/ mark sheet/ passing certificate, MBBS mark sheet and certificate, post-graduation mark sheet and certificate, medical council registration certificate aadhar card, caste certificate and PWD certificate. Along with these, candidates who have relevant experience in the concerned field can submit self-attested certificates. Those are applying for Occupational Health have to submit a certificate in occupational health.
The selection criteria for ONGC recruitment includes two-stage – scrutiny of academic record and interview. The educational qualification of candidates carries 70 marks (60 marks for essential qualification and 10 marks for relevant higher qualification). Thereafter, eligible candidates have to appear for the interview. This stage carries 30 marks. Aspirants have to obtain a minimum of 18 marks (12 marks for SC/ST). Once the interview process is over, a final merit list is published. This is prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the interview. The final appointment is subject to the candidate’s performance in the company’s medical examination.
