ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited (OMPL) has published notification for recruitment of executives through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). It may be noted that the recruitment shall be based on GATE 2019 scores and not GATE 2020 scores.
OMPL recruitment 2019 seeks to fill 9 vacancies in the chemical stream, 1 in mechanical, 2 in electrical, 3 in instrumentation, and 1 in IT. Online application form submission for available vacancies has started today, on December 19, 2019. The last date to fill and submit the application form is January 18, 2020.
Candidates with a valid GATE score in chemical engineering (CH) can apply for chemical, mechanical engineering (ME) can go for mechanical, electrical engineering (EE) can apply for electrical, instrumentation engineering (IN) as well as electronics and communication engineering (EC) paper score holders can go for instrumentation stream vacancies, and computer science and information technology (CS) candidates can apply for positions in the IT stream.
The organization will shortlist candidates on the basis of their percentage of marks obtained in GATE exam, for which, their marks out of 100 shown in the score card will be considered. Number of candidates that will be called for next rounds shall be five times the number of vacancies.
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to attend group discussion, group task, and interview. Call letters for this round will be uploaded on the OMPL website, 21 days prior to GD PI dates.
Regarding travel fare, OMPL says in its notification “Candidates called for Group Discussion/Group Task and Personal Interview shall be reimbursed with 3AC train fare OR A/c bus fare limited to 3AC train fare from their correspondence address/place of work in India on production of actual tickets by the shortest route. Local Travel cost, if any, shall be borne by the candidates.”
Final merit shall be drawn on the basis of GATE 2019 score with 85% weightage, group discussion, group task, interview with 15% weightage.

To apply, visit ompl.co.in and go to the “join us” page, and click the link “Recruitment of executives through GATE-2019: Advt.No.06/2019”. Register by entering details asked in the form, upload documents, and pay fees. Documents to be uploaded include photograph, signature, GATE score card, category certificate if applicable.
Application fee to be paid in order to apply for OMPL recruitment through GATE 2019 is Rs 750 for general, OBC, EWS candidates. SC, ST, PWD, exs, regular employees of OMPL are exempted from the fee.
