Director of Teacher Education and SCERT Bhubaneswar, Odisha is conducting NTSE 2019 stage 1 which is the first of the two levels of NTSE exam, and is at state level. The exam will be held on November 3, 2019. And the admit card is available for download at scertodisha.nic.in.
Class 10th students who have applied for state level National Talent Search Examination (NTS) should download and print their NTSE admit card and take the same to the designated exam center. With two days to go for the exam, this is a crucial step at this point.
To download admit card, candidates must visit the official website and click “NTS & NMMS examination”. Then on the next page, click “go to NTSE / NMSS”. There, access the “download admit card” link. Then enter application number and date of birth in order to login and get the NTSE admit card 2019 for state level exam to be held in Odisha.
On the day of exam, students need to carry the same alongside other instructed documents like identity proof. National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a two stage process wherein eligible candidates are called for first tier screening examination known as State Level Talent Search Examination for screening of selected candidates for the National Level Examination.
Students must be clear with the exam structure as it help in preparing for the exam strategically. So, tier 1 exam is of 200 marks, segregated equally into two sections: one section is Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the other is for Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Both the sections having 100 multiple choice questions each. To complete each section the candidates have a total of 120 minutes with them.
The exam will be conducted in an offline mode after which a fixed number of students will be selected for tier 2 examination. To get in the list of these selected students, one need to clear the cut off as decided by the respective states. For clearing stage 1 exam, the exam takers must at least bring 40% in each individual paper i.e MAT And SAT respectively. But for reserved category like SC/ST/PH candidates the cut off comes down to 32% in each paper.
Accordingly, candidates can check their results in the month of either January or February in the form of the merit list prepared. SCERT Odisha prepares the merit list on the basis of the total marks secured in MAT and SAT for Odisha.
Eligible candidates who will clear the stage 1 of the examination will then sit for the National Level Examination which is scheduled on 2nd Sunday of May 2020. It will also be conducted in a pen and paper mode wherein candidates will face two sections: MAT and SAT of 100 marks each. The paper carries no negative marking so candidates can opt all MCQs by marking their answers in an OMR sheet provided.
National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a scheme of National Council of Educational Research and Training. It is a scheme which aims to provide wider platforms to the talented children by motivating them for further studies by providing a specific number of scholarships to the selected candidates.
