On the scheduled exam date, MAT will be held from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm, and SAT will be conducted from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm. There are some things students need to know about before appearing to the exam center.

Firstly, it is important they check their admit card. It has to have all the information about the venue, the date and time of the exam, and roll number. The examination will start on time as given on the admit card by the center superintendent. After that, no students will be taken inside the exam center. Authorities shall take strict action against candidates who indulge in malpractices. Therefore, students are advised against such acts.

The NTSE exam pattern for written examination is going to be like this. There will be two papers. In the first paper students will attempt mental ability test (MAT) and second will be scholastic aptitude test (SAT). The total number of questions in each paper will be 100. For every correct answer, students will get one mark and there is no negative marking. The total number of marks is 100 in each paper. To complete the papers students will get 120 minutes.

After the examination, result will be announced soon. MSCE Pune will prepare merit list for Maharashtra state, on the basis of performance of students in the exam alone. The qualifying marks as per the categories are like this, 40 percent marks in the case of General and OBC categories students. However, in the case of SC/ST/Physically challenged candidates the qualifying percentage is 32. The Maharashtra NTSE result will be made available to students in either January 2020 or February 2020. The result of this examination is used for shortlisting students for second level NTS examination conducted by NCERT. Therefore, the score of this examination is not included in the National Level Examination for the award of scholarship.

NTSE stage level two examination will be conducted by the NCERT on May 10, 2020. This examination is going to have the same pattern as stage one examination. The admit card for this will be available to students on the official website of NCERT. The selection of awardees will be made as per the total score in the examination.
