The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released a press release regarding the declaration of the UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021 cycles. As per the notification dated February 16, 2022; the result declaration process is underway and the same is likely to be completed in a day or two. Although the examination conducting authority is the National Testing Agency (NTA), UGC is working closely to declare the results as soon as possible. Hence, it is very likely the results will be announced by February 18, 2022. Candidates who have appeared for the exam should keep an eye on the official website – ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

UGC NET Result 2021-2022

According to the press release the UGC NET December 2020 examination could not be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, NTA had to conduct the UGC NET exams for December 2020 and June 2021 cycles together. The series of examinations were held from November 20, 2021 to January 05, 2022.

UGC NET examination took place for a total of 81 subjects. A total of 837 examination centres spread across 239 cities were set up for the smooth conduct of the examinations. The registrations were received from more than 12 lakh applicants. As of now, the process of declaring the results is underway. UGC Chairman Prof. Jagadesh Kumar said that the Commission is working closely with NTA to expedite the result declaration process. Moreover, necessary efforts are being made to ensure that the results get declared within a day or two.

Reasons for Delay

It has been reported that the results were initially supposed to be out on February 13, 2022 but it got delayed due to technical reasons. When a call was made to the NTA helpline number, it was brought to light due to some technical reasons, the UGC NET result declaration process got delayed. Other than this, there has been no other update regarding the pending results. However, another update claimed that the results will be out by the end of this week.

So, if we corroborate this assumption and the press release that has been released today, then it seems that there are high chances for the results to be made available within this week. Along with the results, the final answer ley of the UGC NET examination is expected to be released. The provisional answer keys have already been released and the candidates were given the provision to submit challenges and representations within a stipulated deadline.
