The Bihar School Education Board will be conducting the annual examinations for classes 5 and 8. This is for the first time that the annual examination is going to be held in the government school after the COVID-19 infection rates started to subside. Students will have to appear for the annual exams from March 07 to 11, 2022. This will, however, be a written examination. At the same time, the students from classes 1 to 4 and 6 to 7 have to appear for annual assessments. The dates for the annual assessments have been fixed from March 25 to 29, 2022.
A total of 01 crore 58 lakh 32 thousand and 960 students are going to appear for the annual examination and annual evaluation. From the Patna district alone, 5,71,371 students will have to appear for the exams. The annual examinations were not held in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and all students were promoted to the higher classes.
As such, the students from classes 5 and 8 who will qualify for the annual examination are going to be promoted to the next classes. Similarly, students from classes 1 to 4 and 6 to 7 will be promoted based on the annual evaluation. It has also been reported that special classes are going to be conducted in April and May, 2022 for those students who will fail in the annual exams of classes 5 and 8. After that, a re-examination for these students will be conducted in June, 2022.
The Bihar Education Council has mandated that every student should appear for the annual examinations. According to Amit Kumar, the District Education Officer in Patna, all schools have been informed about the upcoming annual examinations for which preparations are underway. The exam is going to be held in March while the results will be announced in April, 2022.
Board Exams
Bihar School Education Board will be starting with the class 10 board exams from tomorrow, i.e. February 17, 2022 onwards. Students will have to appear for the exams at the designated exam centers across the state. The exams will conclude on February 24, 2022. There will be two shifts over which the class 10 board exams will be held. While the first shift will take place from 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM, the second shift is going to be conducted from 1:45 PM to 5:00 PM. There will be more than 08 lakh students in each group of the exam.
