The Press Information Bureau Of India (PIB) has released a press release which declares that all the NTA held examinations such as NEET, JEE Main, UGC NET, GPAT, and CMAT will be conducted in online mode twice a year. For this purpose, NTA is establishing a network of test centers, especially for the aspirants from rural areas, so that they have ample opportunity to acquaint themselves with the computer-based tests.
The schools and engineering colleges will act as the test centers. As per 2018 data, in JEE Main, more than 11.5 lakh students appeared for the exam in offline mode and 2.25 lakh students appeared for the exam in online mode. Thus, it is clear that still today, maximum candidates are comfortable with the pen and paper mode of examination. Therefore this move of coming up with practice test centers before the examination can prove to be a very wise one.

As per our news article dated July 25, 2018, we had covered the start of registration for schools/institutes for Test Practice Centres by NTA. The registration is open to all eligible schools/institutes on the website of NTA, nta.ac.in.
The candidates will be able to visit the test centers and practice to acquaint themselves with the computer-based test free of cost. The Schools and engineering colleges with computer labs will be identified for this purpose, which can be used by any aspirant. These Training Practice Centres will be active from the 3rd week of August 2018. As per the above press release the final decision and timetable will be available soon.
JEE Main 2019 Exam will be first conducted in the month of January 2019 and then in April 2019. Whereas the NEET 2019 will be conducted first in the month of February 2019 and then in May 2019.
For JEE Main 2019, application forms will be available from September 01, 2019 and for NEET 2019, registrations will start from October 01, 2018 for the first phase of examinations.
