When it comes to the preparation, then solving previous year question papers proves to be an important and effective strategy. This is helpful to understand the marks distribution, questions that are repeated throughout the years, etc. Referring to the last four years paper will suffice and make students confident enough to perform well in the exam. After solving the previous year questions, candidates should make sure to revise them at least once a day. Candidates can easily download the papers online.

It is also important to have an idea of the questions that were asked previously. In 2020, for the Ayurved paper, questions like the author of a particular commentary, site of ‘Secretin’ hormone secretion, synonym of pachampacha, etc. were asked. In the Unani paper, assertion, reason and statement-based questions were there. For Homoeopathy, questions on the branch of a particular artery, features of cushing’s syndrome, risk factors for placenta praevia, etc. were asked. Lastly, for Siddha, types of kabala kuttam, diseases and deficiency, statement-based questions were asked.
For an effective revision plan, it is advised to not revise more than two subjects in a day. One can also divide the time equally between the two subjects. While doing so, try to focus more on the Homoeopathic subjects because 45-50 questions are asked from these subjects. The remaining time should be utilized to attempt as many mock tests as possible. Ideally, one should devote at least one hour to solve a mock test, on a daily basis. In total, 8 to 9 hours in a day should be enough for both revision and mock tests.
An analysis of the last four-year question papers shows that the important subjects for AIAPGET 2021 are: Dravya Guna, Roga Nidana, Rasa Shastra, Prasuti Tantra, Kaumarabhritya, Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra and Conventional Medicine. Hence, students should prioritize their revision accordingly. Try solving at least three previous year question papers in a day to have a better understanding of these subjects.
For AIAPGET, experts suggest following the strategy of parallel revision which means to revise and study at the same time. For example, while going through the Samhitas, revise only those subjects which one finds difficult. Be thorough with Ashtanga Hrudaya and have a clear understanding of the concepts, importantly those which are mentioned in Padartha Vijnan. For the Morden Pathology book, revise the available materials and notes. However, only skim through the important points but do not read the full description line by line.
Keep one hour only for the short subjects. But, make it a point to cover all of them. In addition to this, take out 10 to 15 minutes to revise the botanical names, family, etc. Questions from Sanskrit Grammar are also asked and hence students must have some idea about that too. Do not neglect the numerical values like saponification, iodine value, etc.
