Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) announced the CA Foundation and Final Results (July) 2021 today, September 14, 2021. In a scenario like never before, Nandini Agrawal and Sachin Agrawal, the sibling-duo topped the CA Final 2021 examination. While Nandini topped the final stage with a whopping 614/800 marks, her brother achieved the All India Rank (AIR) 18 with a score of 568/800. This year, a total of 83,606 candidates had registered for the new course. Despite facing such tough competition in the CA Final 2021 (New Course) exam, the duo passed it with flying colours. Here are all the insights about this “dual achievement” –
Nandini and Sachin Agrawal studied in the Victor Convent School situated in the Morena District of Madhya Pradesh. Nandini had previously, skipped two classes to study in the same class as her brother, and the duo went on to clear the Class 12 board exams in 2017.
When asked about their CA Final 2021 achievement, Nandini revealed that she and her brother had been studying together since school. They prepared for two crucial exams together as well i.e., Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) and CA Final (New Course) 2021. The strategy they employed was pretty simple – supporting each other but critiquing more.
Nandini also revealed that the brother-sister duo would check each other’s papers, while constantly motivating and encouraging each other. Due to her brother’s support, she was able to survive the difficult and depressing days. Currently, Nandini is working at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and managed to achieve AIR 31 in the IPCC examination. Sachin on the other hand is pursuing his articleship at One Point Advisors, a firm established in Gurugram.
The COVID-19 pandemic significantly affected the academics of students across the country. But, the opposite happened in the cases of Sachin and Nandini. In fact, the duo benefited from the pandemic as it allowed them to dedicate more time to their preparation.
Apart from a dedicated preparation strategy, mock tests and previous year question papers strengthen a candidate’s overall performance in the final stage. However, marks obtained in mock exams can discourage even the toughest nut out there. While facing this dejection, Nandini explained how her brother became the only source of encouragement and motivation. Sachin would motivate her to look forward and prepare better rather than dwelling on the mock exam results. Now, this is the golden piece of advice for several CA Final aspirants out there.
A healthy and encouraging atmosphere is of paramount importance for cracking any competitive examination. Moreover, this preparation journey towards becoming a Chartered Accountant is tumultuous and full of hurdles. However, rather than dwelling over these problems, candidates must set their minds towards achieving the larger picture, which was what Nandini Agrawal did and has now, achieved Rank 01.
In 2018, the brother-sister combination had opted for the CA (new course) while applying for the IPCC examination. At that point, the old course was out of option and hence, the new version was the only available choice. But, irrespective of the course, this dynamic duo will definitely inspire millions of CA aspirants out there to work collectively towards achieving their dreams!
