Northern Coalfields Limited is inviting online applications for recruitment into various Supervisory and Technician posts. The posts are across mines//establishments of NCL in the Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh and Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. 512 vacancies in the aforementioned cadres are advertised by the NCL through a detailed employment notification (NCL/HQ/PD/Manpower/DR/2020-21/466). The recruitment notice is published on the official website i.e. nclcil.in. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply for the supervisory posts such as Assistant Foreman or Technician posts such as Technician Fitter, Technician Electrician, etc. As per the official notice, the online registration and form submission window is commencing on August 03, 2020. The last date of online registration and form submission is August 25, 2020.
The advertised vacancies are bifurcated across different categories/communities and indicated through the detailed recruitment notification. In the Supervisory post category, there are 7 vacancies for the post of Asst. Foremen (E&T) (Trainee) Grade C and a total of 72 vacancies for the post of Asst. Foreman (Mechanical) (Trainee) Grade C. In the Technician post category there are 149 vacancies for the post of Technician Fitter (Trainee) Cat. III. Similarly, there are 174 vacancies for the post of Technician Electrician (Trainee) Cat. III. 19 vacancies are available for the post of Technician Turner (Trainee) Cat. III while 8 vacancies are available for the post of Technician Machinist (Trainee) Cat. III. In addition, there are 83 vacancies available for the post of Technician Welder (Trainee) Cat. II. PwBD and ESM candidates, horizontal reservation of vacancies are also available. Eligible candidates can apply online by paying a fee of Rs 500. Except for SC/ST/PwBD/ESM/Departmental candidates, all other applicants have to pay the specified fee. The online registration and application link is activated as per scheduled at the official NCL website under the Career section. The complete application process involves four key stages viz. registration, fee payment, application, and submission. Applicants must complete all the stages to successfully apply for the recruitment. Selected candidates are appointed initially for a training period of 1-2 years. Those appointed at Grade C of Asst. Foreman posts are entitled to a basic monthly pay of Rs 31852.56. On the other hand, Technicians appointed at Cat. III is entitled to the basic pay of Rs 1065.55 per day. The basic pay of Cat. II candidates are Rs 1034.04 per day.
Applicants must be within the age of 18 to 30 years on the last date of application. Relaxations on the upper age limit are applicable as per provisions of the NCL indicated in the detailed advertisement. Those applying for the Asst. Foreman posts are required to have at least a Diploma in Electronics/Mechanical Engineering as per the post. In order to apply for Technician posts, candidates need to have an ITI Certificate in the relevant trade issued by NMCVT/SCVT and a minimum of 1 year’s Apprenticeship Training certificate.
The selection of eligible candidates is to be done through a written test. The written test carries 100 marks. Candidates have to complete the question paper in a total duration of 90 minutes only. There are two parts to the paper. Part A consists of trade-related questions as per the post applied for and carries 70 marks. Part B carries 30 marks and is based on General Studies. The detailed syllabus is to be published on the NCL website separately. All questions of the written test are in the MCQ format only and the question paper is set in the English & Hindi languages. Candidates have to secure the minimum qualifying marks to pass the written exam. The minimum qualifying marks for UR and EWS candidates are 50/100. SC/ST, ESM, OBC (NCL), and PwBD candidates must secure at least 40/100 marks to pass the exam.
