NLU Delhi announces AILET 2021 exam date as 2 May; Application Form to release in January

NLU Delhi has issued a notification stating that it shall conduct the AILET 2021 examination on May 2, 2021 across the country for candidates who wish to get admission in prestigious law institutes across the country.

AILET 2021 exam date announced

National Law University (NLU) Delhi is going to conduct the All India Law Entrance Exam (AILET) 2021 on May 2, 2021 i.e. on Sunday from 10:00 am to 11:30 pm. Authorities issued a notification on December 4, 2020, on their official website regarding the exam announcement. According to the notification, the admission notice shall be released in the first week of January, 2021. Furthermore, the admission forms shall also be available around the same time next year. The nationwide examination shall be conducted for admission to courses like B.A.L.L.B. (Hons), L.L.M. and Ph.D programmes.

It is anticipated, that like last time, the exam will be of 90 minutes duration and comprise of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). It shall be conducted in a computer-based format and the question paper will only be available in the English language. Candidates shall be awarded 1 mark for every correct answer while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

The entrance exam syllabus for B.A.L.L.B. candidates consists of subjects like English, General Knowledge, Legal Aptitude, Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics. All sections except Elementary Mathematics shall contain 35 marks while the latter shall contain 10 questions of numerical-type. In case of L.L.M. course, the questions shall be based on subjects like Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Law of Contract, Jurisprudence, Law of Tort, International Law, etc. Ph.D candidates appearing for AILET 2021 must prepare topics pertaining to Research Methodology and Legal Research Aptitude.  

Authorities have announced that the AILET 2021 Application forms shall be available within first week of January, 2021. To access the application form, candidates must register on the official website by filling-in the ‘User Registration’ form. After filling the required details, they must click on the ‘Conform’ button to submit the details. Successfully registered candidates shall see the ‘Application Locker’ on the first page itself. They are required to select NLU from the list of colleges displayed.

Candidates are instructed to choose the application form related to the AILET 2021 course that they are applying. They must fill-in the application form for each section and click on the ‘submit’ option to save their details. By doing so, they shall be led back to the application locker to make the application form payment. Authorities can pay the application fee using credit card, debit card or net banking facilities.

AILET 2021 Admit Card shall be released subsequently once the application process ends. NLU Delhi has announced that it shall conduct the AILET 2021 entrance examination on May 2, 2021. Through this exam, candidates can get admission into various law courses in prestigious institutes across the country.
