National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) has today, i.e. on September 09, 2021, announced the list of best universities and colleges in the country. The ranking was unveiled by the Education Minister of India Dharmendra Pradhan during a webcast at 12 pm today. The list of colleges will soon be uploaded on NIRF’s official website – nirfindian.org – for a university or student’s reference. Apart from releasing the list of best colleges in India, NIRF has also announced the top colleges in a variety of fields such as engineering, management, pharmacy, medical, law, architecture and dental. IIT Madras has scored a hat-trick by achieving the first position for three consecutive years, starting from 2019. There was tough competition between IIT Madras and IISc Bengaluru for the top position. However, IISc Bengaluru has managed to bag the second position for the past three years as well.

NIRF has curated the list of top colleges in India in 2021 based on various parameters. These include Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach Inclusivity (OI) and Peer Perception (PR). All these factors play a role in determining the overall position and ranking of a college or university, irrespective of the field of study.
