NIFT 2022 Application Form Closes Today – Check Exam Date, Syllabus, How to Prepare

The examination will take place on February 06. Candidates will get a duration of 120 minutes to solve the paper.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology will be ending its application process today for NIFT 2022 exam. Candidates who are yet to apply for the examination can do so via the official website niftadmissions.in.

After the closure of registrations, applicants will get time from January 18 to 22 for completing the registration process along with the late fee. During this time period, the window for editing or updating the application form will also remain open.

NIFT 2022 Exam Date

The written examination for all UG and PG programmes under NIFT 2022 will be conducted on February 06, 2022. As per the official timetable, the results for the exam will be announced in mid-March, 2022. This will be followed by the situation test, group discussion and interview that will be held in April, 2022. The online results declaration for NIFT 2022 is going to take place in May, 2022 while the counselling will begin from May or June, 2022 onwards.

NIFT 2022 Syllabus

The written examination for both UG and PG programmes under NIFT 2022 is also known as the General Ability Test (GAT). Questions, in this exam, are asked in both English and Hindi. A duration of 120 minutes (02 hours) is given to answer the questions. For UG or the B.Des programme, the total number of questions is 100 while that for PG or M.Des programme is 120.

There are a total of five sections in the question paper. These are Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Analytical Ability and General Knowledge & Current Affairs. Check out the detailed syllabus below.

1. Communication Ability and English Comprehension

This section is aimed at testing the language ability of the candidates. The questions are mostly asked on synonyms and antonyms, one word substitution, singular, plural, idioms and phrases, correct spellings, words with corresponding meanings, etc.

2. Quantitative Ability

Questions in this section are mostly asked on addition, multiplication, division, fractions, percentage, rate of interest, work and tsk, distance, ratio and proportion, etc.

3. Analytical Ability

This section of NIFT 2022 tests the candidate’s ability for inference and logic. They are required to identify a given problem and apply reasoning to solve the core issues of that problem. In this case, concepts and practice of creative thinking can be helpful.

4. General Knowledge & Current Affairs

In this section, the questions mostly surround current affairs and day-to-day updates.

NIFT 2022 Preparation Tips

The NIFT examination demands creative aptitude from the candidates. For that, here are some tips that can come in handy during preparation.

1. Candidates must not only read newspapers but also focus on banners and posters.

2. Brush up on the basics, especially from classes 10 and 12.

3. Colour theory is an important part. NIFT aspirants should learn the basic process of it.

4. One should read GK books and also stay up-to-date with current affairs.

5. Lastly, go through the previous year question papers and solve sample papers.
