National Institute of Design (NID) has released admit card for design aptitude test (DAT). It has been released on the official website, admissions.nid.edu. The issued admit card is for the prelims exam, which is scheduled to be held on December 29, 2019.
Candidates have to carry a printout of the admit card to gain entry in the centre. To download it, candidates need to visit the official website and click on “Click here to download DAT Prelims Admit Card for B.Des./GDPD & M.Des” link. On doing so, the login portal appears on the screen and it can be accessed by entering registered e-mail id, date of birth, and the verification code. After entering these details, candidates need to click on the blue “Submit” button and download the admit card from the dashboard.
In case, candidates face difficulty while downloading the admit card then they must contact NID for assistance. Candidates can contact the institute at [email protected] or [email protected] or call at +91 79 2662 3462 (only from Monday to Friday, 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm).
On the exam day, NID has instructed candidates to be present with the admit card accompanied with valid Id proof. The id proof has to be carried as original and it can any one of these – PAN card, driving license, voter ID, passport, employee identification card or aadhaar card.
In the admit card, candidates should specifically look for NID DAT 2020 prelims roll number, test center and reporting time on the admit card. Few important instructions by which candidates need to abide are also available on it.
DAT 2020 is an entrance test that NID holds annually in 2 levels – prelims and mains for admission in B.Des, GDPD and M.Des courses. Candidates qualifying prelims are called for the main exam.
DAT 2020 prelim will be held at a national level and in pen and paper mode. It will be held for a total duration of 3 hours for B.Des/GDPD candidates. But for the candidates who have applied for one M.Des discipline, the exam duration will be 2.5 hours. The candidates who have applied for 2 M.Des disciplines will get 4.5 hours to complete the exam.
NID has established exam centers in 22 cities, across India. The timing of the exam is mentioned in the admit card. There will be only 1 shift of the exam across all the centers and the questions asked in the exam may involve text and visuals for the B.Des aspirants. For the M.Des candidates, questions will be a mix of objective and subjective questions. The question paper will only be available in the English language.
The candidates appearing in DAT prelims will be shortlisted based on their prelims score. DAT mains for B.Des / GDPD aspirants will be held between April 29 to May 03, 2020. The admit card for the same will be available from April 14, 2020.
However, the DAT mains date for M.Des aspirants has not been declared and the admit card issuance date is also yet to be out.
