CBSE 2027 Date Sheet Out: Boards From February 16, Physics First for Class 12; What to Check Today

AglaSem News: School Education

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the 2027 date sheet for Class 10 and Class 12. Both board exams start on Tuesday, 16 February 2027. Class 10 ends on 9 March and Class 12 on 9 April, and every paper starts at 10:30 AM. CBSE’s circular, dated 6 November, says over 26.5 lakh Class 10 students and over 19.8 lakh Class 12 students have registered.

Do this today: the window for schools to correct student data closes on 7 November, and CBSE has said no correction will be made after it. Check with your school that your name, date of birth and subjects are right.

Every subject and code is listed on AglaSem Schools: CBSE Class 10 date sheet and CBSE Class 12 date sheet.

What stands out for Class 12

  • Physics comes first. Science students start the boards with one of their main papers, on the first day of the exams.
  • The science gaps are long. There are 11 days from Physics to Chemistry, 10 days from Chemistry to Mathematics, and 16 days from Mathematics to Biology.
  • Commerce runs late. Accountancy is on 23 February, but Economics is on 16 March and Business Studies on 1 April.
  • Class 12 runs a month longer than Class 10. After 1 April, only a few smaller papers remain, ending on 9 April.

CBSE says it checked more than 40,000 subject combinations so that no two subjects a student has chosen fall on the same date. It also says it considered the tentative schedules of major entrance exams and tried to finish the boards well before them. The circular does not name those exams or give their dates.

Five Class 12 papers fall on Holi, reports say

Five Class 12 papers are on 22 March 2027: Knowledge Tradition and Practices of India, Bhoti, Kokborok, Banking and Electronics Technology. Telegraph India and Careers360 report that the date is Holi and ask whether CBSE will move these papers. CBSE’s date sheet does not mention this, and we have not seen any statement from the board. If you take one of these subjects, treat 22 March as your exam date until CBSE says otherwise.

How this differs from last year

Last year CBSE issued tentative date sheets on 24 September 2025. This year it issued none and went straight to these date sheets, 101 days before the first paper, by its own count. Our 2 November report expected them after the correction window closed on 7 November. CBSE released them a day earlier, saying the list of candidates is complete and it has the final subject data.

What is still to come

  • Exam instructions. The date sheet says important instructions will be issued separately.
  • The second Class 10 board exam. This date sheet does not give dates for it.
  • Practicals. These are separate. Winter-bound schools hold them from 9 November to 19 December, and others from 1 January. Our report on practicals has the details.
