Good news for medical aspirants, who passed class 12th with Biology as additional subject, as they are eligible for NEET. Last year, Medical Council of India (MCI) shook the nation by pronouncing students with additional biology subject ineligible for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test. However, protest from students and medical experts moved HC to pass interim order and allow all the candidates to appear for the examination.
Due to interim order, candidates were able to apply for the examination. However, since then a case was being fought in Delhi High Court to consider additional biology as valid subject to determine the eligibility of a student. While MCI was adamant to bar open school candidates, 25 years old candidates, and candidates with biology as additional subject but the persistent efforts of parents, students, and educationist Dr. Amit Gupta has made it all possible.

Until now, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) was conducting NEET under the guidance of MCI. Both the bodies have been much criticized for sudden change in eligibility criteria last year. Also, the Council is struggling for its own existence as the National Medical Commission Bill (NMC Bill) tightening the grip.
Hopefully, the future medical aspirants will not have to suffer, as National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the examination from now. As per the details so far, NTA will conduct the NEET 2019 twice. First the examination will be held in the month of February and May 2019.
The February examination will be held from February 01 to 17 and the application form for it will release on October 01, 2018. The last date to apply for the exam will be October 31, 2018. Candidates interested to appear for the NEET May 2019 exam, will be able to apply in the March and the exam will take the exam between May 12 to 26, 2019.
Now that the verdict has been announced, it is expected that for NEET 2019 open school and candidates with additional will be able to apply. Few media reports are suggesting NTA will not conduct examination twice but official notification regarding the same has not been released.

Entrance test decides the capability of the student whether can study or not. Then what is the need of age limit or any other restrictions.

Age limit and limited chances should be considered on a serious note.Competition is all about competing among the best for the best.Giving unlimited chances puts a full stop to this idea.
