The NEET 2019 Result will indicate the NEET 2019 cutoff scores and marks too. The cutoff marks indicate the minimum percentile marks that the candidates have to score to be eligible for being included in the NEET 2019 All India Rank List for 15% quota of all India counselling.
To be eligible for the NEET 2019 AIR, the candidates have to score 50th percentile (UR category), 45th (SC category), 40th percentile (ST category) and 45th percentile (PwD candidates). The AIR will be used for 15% all India quota counselling and the rest is used by states for their counselling and admissions.
The percentile scores are used to indicate how many candidates have scored equal to or less than the candidate whose percentile score is considered in the exam.
How is the NEET 2019 AIR Prepared? For the AIR, the candidates are arranged in order of their ranks. The more is the percentile score, the more is their rank. If 2 or more candidates get the same score, in that case, a tie-breaking process is implemented. This includes giving preference to the candidate scoring higher marks in Botony and Zoology. If there is still a tie, the preference will be given to students with higher marks in chemistry. If the tie still persists, the student with less number of incorrect answers will be considered first. Lastly, to resolve the tie as the last option, students who are older in age will be given preference in the merit.
Few of the experts from Sri Chaitanya have expected the NEET 2019 Cutoff marks as 538 for the UR category. The experts at Career Point say that the cutoff for NEET 2019 may range from 455-465. Also, the experts from Resonance claim it can be around 565-570 marks. However, it is very difficult to predict the NEET 2019 Cutoff percentile. The cutoff percentile will be available with the declaration of the result until then no close predictions can be justified.
