Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has made it official that it will conduct Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)-2020. Until now, there were speculations that IIT-D will hold the exam. However, the institute confirmed it by updating GATE 2020 details on the website, gate.iitd.ac.in.
This is the first advertisement for GATE 2020. Until now, only this has been uploaded. The tabs for Home, Brochure, Advertisement, GATE International, Pre Exam, Post Exam, FAQs, and Contact Us will become active in due course of time.
GATE is a national level examination for admission in M.Tech and P.hd. courses. The examination is conducted by IITs, on a rotational basis. The exam date of GATE falls in the month of February. However, the GATE 2020 application form for it will release by 1st week of September 2019.
The forms are only released online, on the official website of GATE. The candidates have to register to fill the application form at gate.iitd.ac.in. To register for GATE 2020 the candidates have to enter their name, email id, country, mobile number and set a password. Once the registration is done the candidates can log in at GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System) 2020 to fill the application form.
To submit the form the candidates have to make an online payment at GOAPS for which the application fee will be announced with the release of the GATE 2020 information brochure.
Before the candidates are looking forward to applying for GATE 2020 they must also ensure their eligibility criteria. To apply for GATE 2020, there is no age limit. However, candidates must have an appropriate undergraduate degree to apply for GATE.
The GATE 2020 exam is expected to have 25 subject papers. In 2019, a new subject paper statistics was added and it is expected that in 2020, Biomedical Engineering will be added. The exam pattern of GATE is different for different papers. However, there is a common pattern as per which implies that the duration of the exam is 3 hours. There will be a total of 65 questions in the examination carrying 100 marks.
Also, there are two kinds of questions in the GATE exam, MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) and NAT (Numerical Answer Type) Questions.
The syllabus for GATE 2020 will be also uploaded with the information brochure and the candidates can check the syllabus for all the 25 papers. the candidates have to follow the syllabus of the paper that they are appearing for in GATE. GATE 2020 exam will be held on a national level and in a computer-based test format.
The GATE 2020 scores will remain valid for 3 years. Many PSUs of the nation also accept GATE scores for recruitment. Last year, Sumit Bhamboo topped in ME, Prakhar Singh topped in CE and Pranav Sharma in CS.
