NEET 2018 Today; 13.36 Lakh Candidates Brace to Face the Exam

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 today, on May 06, 2018. The exam will begin at 10:00 am and will end at 1:00 pm. The candidates have to reach the exam hall at the reporting time, as mentioned in the admit card. There are two slots for reporting, from 7:30 am to 8:30 am and 8:30 am to 9:30 am. After the lapse of the reporting time, the permission to enter exam hall shall not be granted.

In all, 13.36 lakh candidates have registered for the exam. Of these 5,80,648 are male candidates and 7,46,076 are female candidates. The ratio of female applicants in comparison to males usually remains higher for NEET. In comparison to last year, the number of Transgender applicants has decreased from 8 to 1, indicating regression.

NEET 2018 is a pen and paper based examination. It will be held at 2255 centers across India, which will be established in 136 cities. Despite protest, centers in Tamil Nadu have not been increased and student’s display of agitation is on the table.

At the exam hall, candidates will have to get through the formalities of frisking and must abide by the norms of NEET dress code to get permission to appear for the exam. Candidates will be provided with sealed Test Booklet fifteen minutes before the commencement of the test. Candidates are required to fill the particulars on the cover page of the booklet with ball pen only. It is important to note that the booklet shall only be opened when asked by the invigilator.

Five minutes prior to the exam candidates will be asked to break the seal of the test booklet. Check the answer sheet carefully and make sure the code written on booklet and answer sheet is the same. Candidates will have to wait for the invigilators signal to start the exam. After the completion of exam hand the answer sheet to the invigilator.

Central Board has prepared the question paper in 11 languages, which are Hindi, English, Tamil, Gujarati, Marathi, Assamese, Urdu, Telugu, Oriya, Bengali, and Kannada. There will be 180 multiple choice questions in the exam. These will be from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Each question shall carry 1 mark, which will be awarded only for choosing correct answer option. In case a candidate opts for an incorrect answer, then negative marking of 1 mark will be done. For the NEET 2018 exam, experts have adviced that the candidates should attempt the section which they are strong at first followed by other sections.

The Answer key for NEET 2018 will be available on the official portal. And the Result will be announced on June 5, 2018. NEET is conducted every year for admission to MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses.
