UPSC is all set to release the application form for National Defence Academy (NDA) 2022 examination. According to its official calendar for the 2022 session, UPSC has released the date schedule regarding the application form and examination. The application process for the NDA/NA examination will start on December 22, 2021, and the last date to apply will be January 11, 2022. All the interested candidates can apply online at the portal, upsconline.nic.in.
The application is divided into two parts, Part I and Part II. Important documents such as a photograph, signature, photo ID card, mark sheets should be kept handy while applying for the examination. Candidates can check the following steps to apply for the NDA 2022 examination:
Step 1 – Part I is registration, where the candidates are required to fill in all their personal details such as name, date of birth, educational qualifications, etc including email and mobile number.
Step 2 – Candidates will be required to choose their branch preference by marking in order of 1 to 4. Branches include Army, Navy, Air Force, Naval Academy.
Step 3 – In the following step, candidates are required to cross-verify all the details as no correction is allowed in the form later.
Step 4 – Subsequently, a registration ID will be generated and sent to the registered email ID. Here Part I registration concludes.
Step 5 – Part II of registration begins with the payment of the fee through different modes. Candidates will have to pay a fee of INR 100 while applying except candidates of the SC and ST categories. There are some more fee exemptions mentioned in the notifications for certain candidates that can be referred to the notification.
Step 6 – After successful payment of the fee, candidates are required to select their exam centre. According to their suitability, candidates can choose three exam centres.
Step 7 – Now candidates have to upload their passport-size photograph, scanned images of signature and photo ID card. Thereafter, candidates can submit the application form by agreeing to the declaration.
After completion of registration take a print of the application form and fee receipt. It must be noted that the dates for the release of admit cards will be announced in due course of time by the UPSC.
The NDA/NA exam will be conducted on April 10, 2022. The exam will be conducted in offline mode, which will consist of two papers each of two and a half hours and the questions will be of MCQ type. Paper I (Mathematics) will be 300 marks and Paper-II (General Ability Test) will be 600 marks. There will be a negative marking of one third (0.33) marks for every wrong answer. After qualifying for the examination, candidates will have to appear for the SSB interview round which will be 900 marks.
NDA exam is conducted by UPSC twice every year for recruitment to the Army, Navy and Airforce wings. This exam is the gateway to joining the defence forces in India.
