The North Central Railway in receiving online applications for engagement of Apprenticeship in the Wagon Repair Workshop, Jhansi. The online application process already started on June 01 and will end on July 15, 2020. Eligible candidates having relevant technical training and educational qualification can apply online at the website mponline.gov.in. A total number of 196 vacancies have been advertised in the official notification released by the NCR at the website. Candidates must note that the selection is for the engagement in the apprenticeship trainee role during which time, candidates are entitled to receive a fixed stipend as instructed by the Railway Board. Candidates who have passed 10th class with minimum 50% marks and have acquired an ITI certificate obtained from an NCVT affiliated institute are eligible to apply. One must also be within the age range of 15 to 24 years in order to apply although relaxations on the upper age limit are permissible as per government norms. The total vacancies are bifurcated across the trades of Fitter (90), Welder (50), Mechanic Machine & Tool Maintenance (13), Machinist (12), Painter (16), Electrician (12), and Hindi Stenographer (03).
The entire process of application is conducted online at the aforementioned website. Candidates are required to deposit a fee of Rs 170 (and GST) broken down as Rs 100 as application fee and Rs 70 as a portal fee. Among the exempted ones are SC, ST, Pwd, and Women candidates who must however mandatorily pay the portal fee of Rs 70 (and GST). The online application form must be filled up carefully and previewed and edited to ensure all information are correct before submission. Candidates are required to register first using an email id and mobile number and then fill-up the form online. The scanned documents that must be attached to the online application form in the JPEG format are photograph, signature, Left Thumb Impression, matriculation mark sheet & certificate, ITI mark sheet & certificate, caste certificate, disability certificate, aadhar card, and PAN card.
The selection of candidates will be purely on the basis of merit i.e. the average percentage marks obtained in 10th class and ITI. NCR will not conduct any written or verbal exam/interview for the selection of candidates. In cases where the marks are equal for two or more candidates, the one older in age will be selected. The selection of candidates to form the merit list will be entirely computerized. The final selection list will be published in the form of trade-wise, community-wise, category-wise, and reservation-wise merit lists and updated on ncr.indianrailway.gov.in.
Two merit lists will be prepared among which the candidates will be summoned for document verification and medical test from the first list. Once the selected candidates are exhausted from the first list, NCR will summon candidates from the waiting list. A final trade test will be conducted after the completion of training and passing candidates will be awarded the National Trade Certificate.
