MTET 2021 Exam Date Announced, Application Form To Release on August 9

The candidates willing to apply for the MTET Primary 2021 Exam should have completed their Class 10+2 with atleast 50% marks and D.El.Ed.

MTET 2021 Exam Date Announced

The Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT), Shillong has released a notice on the official website i.e. megeducation.gov.in inviting applications for the Primary and Elementary teachers through MTET 2021. As per the official notice, the application form will release on August 09, 2021, and the last date to register will be August 19, 2021. Similarly, the MTET will be conducted on August 28, 2021. Earlier, the MTET application form was notified to be released on June 10, 2021, and was expected to end on July 10, 2021. The application form of the MTET will be available online however, the same has to be filled and has to be submitted to any of the sub-division’s offices of DERT, Meghalaya. 

The basic eligibility to apply for MTET is divided into two groups i.e. Lower Primary and Upper Primary. The candidates willing to apply for the Lower Primary are required to have completed Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks. Additionally, the candidates should have also completed their 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education.

For the candidates aspiring for the Upper Primary level, the minimum qualification is passing Graduation from a respective university. Additionally, the candidates are also required to have completed their 2-year D.EL.ED or 1-year B.ED programme.

As mentioned earlier, the MTET Application form will be available online and the candidates are required to download and then fill the same. The candidates can follow the steps provided below to easily fill the application form:

At first, the candidates are required to download the MTET application form from the official website i.e. megeducation.gov.in. Upon downloading, the candidates are required to fill the application form with all the major details i.e. candidate’s Name, parent’s name, complete address, date of birth, email address, candidate’s category, candidate’s gender, educational qualification, professional eligibility criteria.

Post completing the application form of MTET, the candidates are required to submit the application form to any of the centres. The application fee for unreserved candidates paper 1/paper 2 is Rs 800 for a single paper while for the SC/ST category is Rs 400. The application fee for both the papers is Rs 1600 for the unreserved candidates while it is Rs 800 for SC/ST category candidates.

The Meghalaya TET is an offline test conducting for recruiting teachers at two levels i.e. primary and upper primary. The primary test has five subjects i.e. Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (Khasi/Garo/Assamese/Bengali/Hindi/Nepali), Language II(English), Mathematics, Environmental Studies each accounting for 30 questions. While the upper primary level has five subjects i.e. Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (Khasi/Garo/Assamese/Bengali/Hindi/Nepali), Language II(English), and Mathematics/Social Science.

Each subject in the upper primary exam accounts for 30 questions while the last subject has 60 questions. As per the marking scheme, each correct answer accounts for 1 mark while there is no provision of negative marking. The total duration for the MTET exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
