National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the registration deadline to August 10, 2021, for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 examination. Previously, the deadline to register for the national-level medical entrance test was August 07, 2021. Now, the candidates have been given an extra three days to complete the registration formalities. All the application formalities can be completed through the online mode on the official website ntaneet.nic.in. Since the application deadline has been extended, the correction window will now be made available from August 11 to 14, 2021, up to 2:00 pm.

NTA authorities issued a public notice on ntaneet.nic.in, announcing the extension of the NEET 2021 registration deadline. According to the notice, the agency had received multiple requests from students to extend the registration deadline. Therefore, acknowledging the hardships faced by students due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NTA decided to close the registration portal on August 10 instead of August 07, 2021. The deadline to submit the fees has also been extended to August 10, 2021.

Previously, the correction window was supposed to open from August 08 to 12, 2021. However, students can now make changes in their application form as per the revised schedule i.e August 11 to August 14. To make changes (if needed) in their application form, students have to pay certain additional fee charges. These charges can be paid through the online mode using Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI or Paytm.

The public notice also warned students to carefully make corrections in their application form. This is because, beyond the given correction facility, NTA will not be entertaining any further rectification requests.

As of now, NEET 2021 is scheduled to be conducted on September 12, 2021, through pen-and-paper mode. Admit cards will be released 3 days prior to the exam date, as per the information bulletin. However, NTA will notify the exact date for admit card release in due course of time. Even the NEET 2021 result date shall be notified soon.

Once announced, both dates will be updated on the official portal. Here, students must note that the extension of the registration deadline has not impacted the exam date yet. In the meantime, students and parents are advised to check the official website regularly to stay updated. In case of any queries, students can always reach out to the NTA via their email ID or phone number.

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NEET 2021 exam is being conducted on September 12, 2021, instead of May 2021. Therefore, students have just about a month’s time to prepare for the undergraduate medical entrance exam. Qualifying this exam with a good score can help candidates get admission to their dream colleges.
