The Municipal Service Commission of West Bengal (MSCWB) published a detailed recruitment notification for the post of Conservancy Mazdoor under the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. A total of 858 vacancies are advertised for the post. The detailed notification is available for download from the official website of the Commission i.e. mscw.org. The recruitment is open for both male and female candidates and the application process started on March 11, 2020. The last date of online registration and challan generation has now been extended to July 15, 2020. On the other hand, the last date of submission of application fee with processing charges deposited to the bank is extended to July 16, 2020. The last date of submission of applications has been extended to July 17, 2020.
Eligible candidates who wish for the recruitment can check the vacancy bifurcation details from the detailed recruitment notification. The vacancies are bifurcated community-wise where 354 vacancies are reserved for the unreserved candidates, 24 vacancies for the UR (Meritorious Sports Person), 62 vacancies for UR (ESM), 37 vacancies for UR (PWD), 160 vacancies for SC, and 25 vacancies for SC (ESM). Similarly, 38 vacancies are reserved for ST, 12 for ST (ESM), 73 for OBC (A), 12 for OBC (A-ESM), 49 for OBC (B) and 12 for OBC (B-ESM). Candidates are advised to refer to the official advertisement for further details of the vacancy bifurcation.
The minimum eligible age as on 01.01.2020 is 18 years. Furthermore, candidates must be within the maximum upper age limit of 40 years. However, relaxations up on the upper age limit for a maximum of 5 years can be availed by SC/ST candidates of West Bengal. Similarly, OBC candidates can avail a maximum relation of 3 years on the upper age limit. The maximum permissible upper age of physically handicapped candidates is 45 years. There is no minimum educational qualification required to apply for the recruitment. However, it is mandatory for all candidates to be able to read and write in Bengali, English and vernacular language (Hindi, Urdu, Oriya & Nepali).
The method of recruitment and the syllabus is to be notified by the Commission at later stages on the official website. Upon final selection, the shortlisted candidates are to be appointed at the pay level 1 of the pay matrix of ROPA 2019. Candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs 150 (plus a processing charge of Rs 50+ Rs 20). This is applicable for all UR and OBC candidates. The application fee is exempted for SC/ST and PH candidates. However, they must pay the processing fee of Rs 50 and Rs 20 toward Bank Challan. The application fee is collected by branches of United Bank of India in the account number 0088010367936. The Challan is generated after the submission of the applications online at the Commission’s website.
