West Bengal Municipal Service Commission also abbreviated as MSCWB has extended the last date to apply for the recruitment of 201 teaching staff. The recruitment was notified earlier through Advt. No. 10 of 2020. With other conditions remaining unchanged, MSCWB has published an official notice of extension of the last dates. The previously scheduled last date to register online at mscwb.org was August 31, 2020. However, as per the latest notice the last date has been extended to September 30, 2020. Similarly, intending candidates will be able to deposit the application fee and processing fee to Bank till October 01, 2020. Online applications can be submitted till October 03, 2020.
As per Advertisement No. 10 of 2020, a total of 201 vacancies are advertised by MSCWB for the post of teacher in different subjects under the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. There are 149 vacancies available for the post of Teacher (English), 19 vacancies for the post of Teacher (Hindi) and 33 vacancies for the post of Teacher (Urdu). Selected candidates are to be appointed at the Pay Level 6 of the Pay Matrix of ROPA 2019. Candidates are advised to visit the official website and refer to the detailed advertisement and extension notice for the complete information. However, one must ensure that they satisfy the minimum qualifications in order to apply for the recruitment.
For the post of Teacher (English), candidates who have passed Class 12th with 50% or more marks and completed Diploma in Elementary Education approved by NCTE are eligible to apply. In addition, candidates having B.El.Ed and other Education qualification and relevant degree are also eligible to apply. The minimum age of all applicants must be 18 years while the maximum age is 40 years. Similar eligibility condition also applies to the applicants intending to apply for the posts of Hindi and Urdu teacher. In addition, all candidates must have passed the TET exam at the state or central level. Intending candidates are encouraged to go through the detailed advertisement and ensure they complete all eligibility terms and conditions before applying.
The selection method for the recruitment of the eligible applicants is to be notified through the official website in due course of time. MSCWB has also indicated that the syllabus will be notified later. Those who are employed in Central/State Government agencies have to produce a no-objection certificate within 7 days preceding the final selection interview.

An application fee must be deposited to apply for recruitment. For UR and OBC candidates, an application fee of Rs 150 along with processing fee of Rs 50 and Service Charge of Rs 20 must also be paid. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST and PH categories do not have to pay any application fee but only the processing charge and service charge.
