Madhya Pradesh (MP) PET 2019 is in controversies after few reports surfaced over the internet claiming that the exam is going to be revived again in 2019. Reports had claimed that the MP Association of Technical and Professional Institutes (MPATPI) has submitted a memorandum to the concerned minister regarding seeking the restart of the PET exam.
The concerned Minister has said that the decision will be soon taken in this regard. Clearly, there is no confirmation regarding the conduction of the MP PET 2019. However, the reports are claiming that the exam might return in 2019.
Candidates are to take note that the conduction of MP PET 2019 is not confirmed officially and the concerned ministers and authorities have clearly denied any confirmation of PET in 2019. The candidates are required to appear in JEE Main 2019 and focus on the same.
We had earlier reported regarding the confusion on whether the MP PET 2019 exam is being revived (read the report here), but now that the ministers if the MP state has denied any such reports, candidates can be assured that they need to appear in the JEE Main 2019 exam for MP Engineering admissions.
How did the matter of MP PET 2019 exam being held come up?: Well, this issue came up when the MP Association of Technical and Professional Institutes (MPATPI) has submitted a memorandum to the concerned minister regarding seeking the restart of the PET exam. This memorandum was submitted keeping in mind that 50% if the engineering seats were going vacant after the PET exam has been discontinued in 2014.
When checking the data of Maharashtra state, that conducts its own state-level engineering entrance exam – Maharashtra CET, it was found that there was an increase of 50% students who appeared for the exam.
This loss of candidates in engineering colleges pushed the MPATPI to submit the memorandum to the concerned minister regarding the revival of MP PET.
