There was a meeting of high level officials today, with the Madhya School Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar. This decision was reportedly taken at that meeting.
The official notice that made the decision public was tweeted by School Education Department, MP, at the twitter handle @schooledump. Undersigned by the Examination Controller, MP Shioksha Mandal, the notice has put the students’ anxieties at rest, at least for now. The complete notice is as follows.

As of now, MPBSE has NOT CANCELLED any of the exams. The said exams have only been postponed. Since the exams will be held back for at least a month, the next decision can be expected either by end of the month of May, or early in the month of June.
Several news reports are claiming that the MP board class 10th exams 2021 have been cancelled, and that evaluation will be on parameters like that of CBSE. However there is no official notice yet to back this claim.
Students have been flooding twitter and other social media platforms demanding cancellation of the board exams. While the demands are strong for class 10th board exams to be postponed, in tune with the 9 other boards that have already cancelled class 10 board exams. However there are discussions on pros and cons of cancelling class 12th exams. Nevertheless, the call for not putting students, as well as all other stakeholders of the exam at risk, is loud and clear.
There is no clear indication on which of the MP board exams 2021 can get cancelled, and which are only being held off. Until the final decision is made public, students would assume that there will be board exams, and keep their preparations on, at least whatever semblance of that can be feasible in the ongoing situation.
In the boards where class 10th exams have been cancelled, the boards are going to declare results on the basis of different, yet fair and objective criterion. The said criteria is yet to be made clear. However reports are coming in that CBSE board is asking schools to send information of students in a 15 point format to compile results, which can be their objective criterion.
Around 20 lakh students sit for board exams in Madhya Pradesh every year. The final decision on their next step, is awaited, in a month.
