Indian Army has postponed the Computer Based Tests for admission to B.Sc Nursing Course in 2021 and subsequent commissioning into the Military Nursing Services. The examination is also known as the MNS Exam or Indian Army B.Sc Nursing Entrance Exam. In 2021, the MNS Exam was scheduled to be held during the last week of April. However, as per latest notifications on the official recruitment website of the Indian Army i.e. joinindianarmy.gov.in, the exam date has been deferred on account of the rise in COVID-19 cases in India recently.
The Army conducts the MNS examination for selection of eligible female candidates. Qualifying candidates are provided admission to 4 years B.Sc Nursing program in the Colleges of Nursing of Armed Forces Medical Services. Upon successfully completing the B.Sc Nursing program over the span of 4 years, candidates are commissioned into the Military Nursing Services on permanent commission or short commission basis.
Earlier in February 2021, the Indian Army released the official notification for the Indian Army B.Sc Nursing Entrance Exam 2021. The Army invited application from eligible female candidates till March 10, 2021. The selection process consist of a Computer Based Test at first followed by interview and medical examination.
As per earlier reports, the Computer Based Tests were scheduled to be held during the last week of April 2021. However, the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic in India is only worsening as various government agencies are resorting to postpone scheduled examinations. The Army has also followed in similar footsteps and postponed the CBTs now.
An official notice has been displayed on the website of the Indian Army i.e. joinindianarmy.nic.in. The notice indicates that fresh dates of conducting the exam will be intimated in due course of time. Those who registered for the exam are advised to stay safe during the pandemic and utilise the time to prepare for the exam better.
The MNS exam is conducted as a Computer Based Test of 90 minutes duration. The question paper is based in the topics of General English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Intelligence. Candidates are required to answer a total of 150 questions. All questions in the exam are of objective type and carries only one mark each. Those who qualify the CBTs, become eligible to appear in the subsequent selection stages and admission to 4 years B.Sc Nursing course. Registered candidates are advised to utilise the time to prepare better for the exam and follow the website of the Indian Army closely for any further updates.
