Directorate of Art, Maharashtra, will conduct the Drawing Grade Examination 2019 from tomorrow. The exams for elementary and intermediate grades will be held on four days as per the time table.
Elementary drawing exam will be held on November 27 and 28, 2019. The paper for object drawing is on the first day, from 10:30 am to 1 pm, and memory drawing is on the same day from 2 pm to 4 pm. Then on the second day, design paper is from 10:30 am to 1 pm, and the paper for plane geometry and lettering is from 2 pm to 4 pm.
The intermediate drawing exams are on November 29 and 30, 2019. Still life paper is from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, and memory drawing from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm on the first day. Design exam is on the second day from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, and then from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm is the paper for geometry, solid geometry and lettering.
This time question papers have been distributed online. After the papers were uploaded from DOA office for download, officers were sent an SMS saying “Dear sir/madam, schedule for question paper download is created. Please check your mail for further details. Directorate of Art, Maharashtra State, Mumbai”. Then, officials had to check their email ID for paper download details. After that, they had to go to doa.org.in and click on registration link, then login with username and password. There, school officials could download question paper, by selecting session, faculty, curse, branch / scheme, semester / year, subject. Upon entering details, an otp is sent to the same mobile number, entering which, download question paper link became active.
DOA has also published a list of all the centers who have not yet downloaded the question papers.

In Maharashtra drawing grade examination 2018, a total of 6,71,256 students had applied. The number of students who applied from elementary were 3,96,949, and from intermediate, 2,74,307 had applied. From the respective grades, 3,71,614 and 2,60,934 had appeared. A total of 3,41,893 corresponding to 92.02% qualified in elementary grade exam, and 2,30,175 that is 88.21% qualified in intermediate.
Every year the drawing grade exam are usually conducted in September. However this year they are being held in November. As per reports, MSBSHSE has assured that they will incorporate the marks of drawing grade exam in the board exam results, even if the students did not opt for arts quota option in their forms. Every year, nearly 1 lakh students avail the benefit of arts quota marks through the drawing grade exam. With the exams being held later this year, schools are responsible for preparing lists of students who will sit for the exam, and mention their arts quota eligibility in the forms.
