LPU Introduces COVID-19 Frontline Scholarship Scheme Worth Rs. 20 Crores

Lovely Professional University (LPU) has come up with a scholarship opportunity for the wards of COVID-19 frontline workforce and survivors. This scheme is called the “COVID-19 Frontline Scholarship Scheme” and is a support initiative. The scheme has been launched by LPU as an idea that states “because thank you are just not enough”.

The scholarship scheme is for any student who is wards / dependents of the COVID-19 survivors and frontline workers. Any students who fall this category and are taking admission in any course of LPU can apply for this scholarship.

The eligibility for LPU frontline scholarship is that one must be survivors of COVID-19 or wards of someone deceased due to COVID-19. Apart from that wards of medical staff / health workers, pharmacists, police personnel of all states / UTs, civic staff, sanitation workers, media persons in print, electronic and digital, individual involved in transportations of goods / freight trains, bank employees, employees of pharma companies / research laboratories and district administration can apply for this unique scholarship scheme.

The wards of the frontline workers include son/s and/or daughter/s only. Also, the scholarship is applicable for Indian applicants only and the waiver of fee will be given in the programme fee only.

The last date to apply for COVID-19 frontline scholarship scheme is May 31, 2020.

To apply for this scheme students who take admission in LPU in any course have to submit valid proof. The valid proof can be ID Card, Service certificate, Certificate from the employer, Drug license, Medical Shop Registration, Discharge Certificate from Hospital, or any other document certifying the proof of eligibility for the scholarship.

The scholarship aims to honour the contribution of all the COVID-19 frontline workers risking their lives every day. The scholarship scheme will provide up to a full programme fee waiver worth INR 20 Crores in all the regular programmes offered for academic session 2020-21.

Admission is LPU is going on and the last date to apply for admission is May 31, 2020. Other candidates who are not related to COVID-19 frontline workers can also avail scholarships from LPU. For that, students have to appear for LPUNEST2020. LPUNEST will be held as an online proctored exam. Apart from the scholarship test, the candidates who want to take admission in B.Tech, MBA, Ph.D and PG Agriculture courses, have to appear for LPUNEST 2020 compulsorily for admission.
