The Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, in the latest update has postponed the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana or KVPY 2022 aptitude test. As per the official website kvpy.iisc.ernet.in, the examinations have been postponed due to the constant surge of the COVID-19 cases. As a result, restrictions and weekend curfews have been imposed in many states. The test was supposed to be held on January 09, 2022, but now, the date stands postponed. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website for regular updates.

The country is going through the worst effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. States like Maharashtra, Delhi, and West Bengal are going through an extremely difficult phase and the number of COVID-19 cases is significantly rising each day. The KVPY 2022 is a national scholarship for Fellowship in Basic Sciences that is funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. This examination is conducted to attract exceptionally motivated students who wish to pursue basic science courses and a research career in science. The program in science is aimed to identify those students who possess the right research aptitude so that they can help in boosting up the country’s research and development program in science.
For SA, SX, and SB the fellowship amount during 1st to 3rd years of – B.Sc., B.S., B.Stat., B.Math., Integrated M.Sc., M.S. is Rs 5000 while the annual contingency grant is ₹20000. On the other hand, the SA, SX, SB – during M. Sc. 4th to 5th years of Integrated M.Sc., M.S., M.Math. and M.Stat. is Rs 7000 as monthly fellowship. The annual contingency grant is and Rs 28000. The basic eligibility criteria are that students from class 12 and first-year undergraduate students can apply for this fellowship.
