The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the prospectus or business rules for candidates who want to seek admission in various courses to the IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs (Triple-I-Ts) and other GFTIs. The registration process along with choice filling is going to start from 10:00 AM of October 16, 2021. It is compulsory for the candidates to register via the JoSAA 2021 portal – josaa.nic.in to obtain seats in the mentioned institutes.
To check the business rules for JoSAA 2021, simply visit the official website – josaa.nic.in and click on the ‘Business Rules’ option beside the ‘Home’ button. Now, to complete the registration and fill up choices, candidates have to log in via the JoSAA 2021 website using their credentials. Those candidates who have appeared for JEE (Main) 2021 can use their JEE (Main) 2021 application number and password. Candidates who have appeared for JEE (Main) 2020 and not JEE (Main) 2021 can use the same login credentials as they are eligible through ‘one-time measure’. Similarly, for foreign nationals who did not appear for JEE (Main) 2021, the JEE (Advanced) 2021 login ID and password can be used.
The choice filling for JoSAA 2021 via the online portal is entirely free of cost. Candidates need not pay any registration fee for doing the same. Eligibility of the candidates is based on either one, two, three or all four examinations like JEE (Advanced) 2021, JEE (Main) 2021 B.E. / B. Tech. Paper, JEE (Main) 2021 B.Arch. Paper and JEE (Main) 2021 B. Planning Paper. A ten-day window will be given to the candidates to fill up their choices. This also includes two mock seat allocations on the seventh and ninth days. Candidates are advised to fill in their choices carefully. They should select only those academic programs which they are willing to join.
However, on or before the last day of choice filling, candidates must lock their choices. In case they do not lock their choices, then the previously saved choices will automatically be locked. After a choice is locked, the same cannot be edited again. The display of mock seat allocation-1 as per the candidate’s choices will take place on October 22, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Similarly, the mock seat allocation-2 will take place on October 24, 2021. Candidates must log in using the JoSAA 2021 portal to check whether a seat has been allocated to them or not during the rounds of seat allocation. The first round of seat allocation will be held on October 27, 2021, while online reporting for this round will be held up to October 30, 2021.
