The Ministry of Defence, Government of India, through Bengal Engineer Group and Centre, Roorkee, has invited applications for the post of Grade C personnel in the Indian Army. As per the notification, a total of 36 vacancies in Grade C have been announced. The posts currently open are Lower Division Clerk, Store Keeper, Civil Trade Instructor, Cook, MTS posts, Lascar, Washerman and Barber. The applications are to be sent offline along with valid supporting documents to Bengal Engineer Group and Centre Roorkee before April 30, 2022. 10th pass candidates can apply!
The candidates who have cleared matriculation from a recognized board are eligible for all the mentioned posts except for Lower Division clerk and storekeeper posts. Candidates need to pass higher secondary from recognized boards to apply for LDC and store keeper vacancies. The age limit for the general category candidates is 18-25 years, OBC and ST/SC candidates have an age relaxation of 3 and 5 years respectively.

The recruitment process of the Grade C post will happen in two stages, an objective multiple-choice test followed by a skill test. The candidates who qualify to appear for the written test will be notified of the same. The qualifying exam tests the candidates on General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English and Numerical Aptitude. General awareness and English carry a maximum weightage of 50 marks each, while General Intelligence & Reasoning and Numerical Aptitude carry 25 marks each. It will be a two-hour exam carrying 150 marks.
The scale of pay prescribed according to the 7th CDC for Lower Division clerk, Store Keeper, Civil Trade Instructor and Cook is Level 2 pay of Rs. 19900 as basic pay along with allowances. MTS posts, Lascar, Washerman and Barber will receive Level 1 pay of Rs. 18,000 as basic pay plus allowances.
