Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, JIPMER has started the recruitment process for the vacant positions under group B and C posts. The JIPMER recruitment advertisement has been released on the official website under the announcement section available on jipmer.edu.in. The last date upto which JIPMER is accepting the online form is January 20, 2020, against a total of 107 vacancies.
The institute will conduct an online examination in a single shift on February 23, 2020, Sunday. For the same JIPMER shall issue hall ticket on the official website on February 3, 2020.
Under group B post there are a total of 104 vacancies, out of which 85 are for nursing officer, 15 for medical laboratory technologist and 1 each for physical instructor, psychiatric nurse, junior engineer (air conditioning) and electronics assistant (workshop). Out of the total there are 11 seats reserved for EWS, 13 for OBC, 12 for SC, 48 for UR and 20 for ST. Similarly for group C post there is 1 seat each for EEG technician, uro technician and dental mechanic, with no reservation for EWS, SC, ST and OBC.
As per the horizontal reservation policy there are 3 seats reserved for the persons with disabilities for nursing officer post and 1 for medical laboratory technologist. However, the announced vacancies are tentaive and may vary in number based upon the requirement of the institute.
Candidates, those who wishes to apply for the posts under group B and group C individually then they shall possess either a diploma or a graduation degree in a relevant discipline. And for some posts like physical instructor and EEG technician, a candidate would be eligible if he/she has cleared 10+2 from a recognized board.
Only the fulfilment of the educational qualification would not state the candidate’s eligibility, JIPMER requires one to also adhere to the age limit specification as per the post applied. For some posts, the upper age limit to apply is 30 years and for some, the same can even be upto 35 years of age. However, for the reserved category candidates, JIPMER has made the provision for providing relaxation in the age by certain years. The cut-off date for evaluating the age limit is January 20, 2020 as decided by JIPMER.

The application fee is Rs. 1500 for UR and OBC candidates and Rs. 1200 for SC and ST candidates. PWD are exempted from this fee.
JIPMER will conduct a written examination for the selection of nursing officer. There will be 100 questions in the paper for a total of 400 marks, with a time duartion of 1.5 hours. Along with this a skill test will also be conducted which will be of qualifying nature. However, for other posts, the scheme and pattern of examination if applicable will be informed to the candidates through JIPMER website. The exam center will probably be in Puducherry/Chennai and candidates have to carry their admit card along with the identity proof.
