The Joint Entrance Examination Council (Polytechnic), Uttar Pradesh or JEECUP has announced the date for releasing the Polytechnic entrance test results. The results for the entrance tests of all the groups that were conducted in computer-based test (CBT) formats will be released on September 13, 2021 at jeecup.nic.in.
Based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination and according to the order of merit, the allocation of institutions and courses will take place. As of now, online counselling will tentatively start from September 14, 2021.
Once the results are declared, candidates can check the same from the official website – jeecup.nic.in. The result link will only be activated on the stipulated date. So, after finding the result link, click on the same and then enter login credentials like application number and date of birth. Along with the result, the rank card will also be displayed. Crosscheck details like name, marks scored and open rank before downloading the results.
Normalization of scores
To calculate the marks and compile the final scores, a marks normalization method has been laid down by JEECUP. The reason for framing such a method is that some papers for the entrance examination have been conducted in multi-sessions. Hence, the normalization is applied to consider any suitable variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers. The marks normalization method also ensures that the number of allotted candidates for the same multi-session paper is of the same order of magnitude. This method is based on a formula which is given below:

Right below the formula is the explanation of each variable. These variables denote different marks and scores and hence students are advised to have an understanding of the formula. However, one can also check the normalization process from the official website. All they have to do is visit jeecup.nic.in and click on ‘Normalisation Process 2021’ under the ‘Current Events’ category. A new page will open from where one can also download the PDF.
It is mandatory for the candidates to obtain the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by JEECUP to seek admission. Accordingly, the merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates. Please note that the allotment of seats will be done as per the availability, choices given by the candidates and importantly, merit. Right after the declaration of results, detailed rules, procedure, date, time and place of counselling will be published on the official website and newspapers. However, once the seat is allotted to the candidate, no change in the course or institution will be possible.
