Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh announced JEECUP 2019, also known as UPJEE 2019 exam date today on 26 Oct 2018. The UP Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnic will be held on 28 Apr 2019.
The Council shall issue online application form for JEEC in the third week of December 2018. Students who wish to seek admission to Polytechnics in Uttar Pradesh, to pursue Diploma courses need to appear in the exam and obtain merit in it.
Official website of JEECUP 2019 is jeecup.nic.in. On it, two notices are on display. The first one says ‘Entrance Examination for admission to Polytechnics of session 2019-20 will be on 28 April, 2019’.
Second notice says ‘Online Application Form to apply to JEEC likely to be available in 3rd week of December, 2018′. It is expected that shortly a detailed advertisement will be published in newspapers and other media.
Application Form for JEECUP 2019 shall be an online form at jeecup.nic.in. It shall be accompanied with instructions to register and submit fee. Last year the fee amount was Rs 300 for General and OBC candidates, and Rs 200 for SC and ST candidates.
To be eligible for JEECUP 2019, one must be at least 14 years old as on 01 Jul 2019. To pursue Engineering and Technology Diploma programs, one should have completed class 10th with at least 35% marks.
JEECUP is an annually held entrance exam. The exam is held for different groups named as Group A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, K1 to K8. Group A refers to candidates who wish to pursue Engineering / Technology Diploma Courses. Group B is Agriculture Engineering, Group C is Fashion Design, Home science and Textile design and engineering. Then Group D is for . Modern Office Management & Secretarial Practice and Library & Information Science. Group E is Diploma in Pharmacy and Group F is Post Graduate Diploma in Biotechnology (Tissue culture). Then Group G is Post Graduate Diploma course and Group H is Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology. Group I is Diploma in Aircraft
Maintenance Engineering.
Candidates who apply in Groups K1 to K8 are for Lateral entry in 2nd Year of Engineering & Technology Diploma courses in various branches. Exams for all groups are of 3 hours.
On the basis of performance in exam, candidates will be allotted seats in Polytechnics in UP. The seat allotment process utilizes State Open Rank of candidates.
The total fee amount in all Government institutes is Rs 10370. It is Rs 19000 in all General Aided institutes. Fee is Rs 30000 for Diploma in Pharmacy/Hotel Management and all courses of 3 year duration in Private institute, and in the same institutes, fee for 1 or 2 year duration courses is Rs 21500.
A total number of 559 Polytechnics in Uttar Pradesh offer admission on basis of JEECUP exam. With the expanding scope of employment after Diploma programs, several government jobs also hiring diploma holders, the exam is taken by lakhs of candidates every year. Last year, 3.98 lakh candidates had appeared, and 3.7 lakh had qualified.
