As per recent reports, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has planned on conducting the JEE Main 2022 examination in two attempts this year. These attempts are likely to be held in the months of April and May 2022. The application process for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2022 exam is expected to begin online soon. Registration link will be published on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Looking at the expected schedule, candidates have merely a month’s time to prepare for the entrance exam.

As per previous year’s JEE Main paper pattern, the exam will be held for a total of 360 marks. To qualify for JEE Advanced, the safe zone lies between 250-360 marks. The higher the score, the greater is the percentile and rank. Only the top 2,50,000 candidates will be eligible to compete for a seat in the IITs. To help candidates achieve this goal, here are some tricks and tips to follow, especially if they haven’t joined coaching yet.

The JEE Main 2022 Block Strategy

To cover and revise the entire syllabus in a systematic manner, here’s a subject-wise block strategy –

PhysicsChemistryMathematics
Electrostatics + Kinematics + capacitance + current electricity

Newton’s Law of Motion +Surface Tension + Viscosity +Elasticity

Simple Harmonic Motion + Modern Physics + Heat Transfer

Optics + Electromagnetic Waves + Units & Dimensions
AS + PT + Chemical Bonding

GOC + Hydrogen + POC

BCC + RED + ELC + CK

S Block and H2
Quadratic + SEQ + STL

FOM + SRF + ITF

MI +MR + Trigonometry

Binomial + PNC + PRB + Strat
Waves + Semiconductors

Magnetism + KTG + Thermo

WEP + CIR + Errors and Expansion

FLD + Communication Systems
Environment + CED + POL + Biomolecules

P-Block + Surface Tension

GL + SS + LS

Halides + O2 & N2
LCD + MOD + AOD

CIR + Conics

MAT + DET

Integration + DE + Area
EMI + SOP

SOP + RBD

Gravitation
D & F Block

Thermo + EQM

Meta + PC
Complex

Vector

3D

The above strategy has been theorized by several exam-experts and toppers. The table given above comprises three blocks for each subject. Candidates have to study the topics/sections in these blocks in a sequential manner for all three subjects. Candidates need to start by studying the first block for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology simultaneously. For instance, Electrostatics from Physics, Chemical Bonding from Chemistry, and Quadratics from Mathematics are to be revised simultaneously.

Revising important topics for an extra edge

After following the block strategy for JEE Main 2022 Syllabus revision, candidates must focus on topics that hold the most weightage in each subject. Revise them for an extra edge over others. Following are the crucial topics to prioritize –

Mathematics – Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Co-Ordinate Geometry, Matrix & Determinants, Trigonometry, Probability

Physics – Electrodynamics, Mechanics, Modern Physics, Heat & Thermodynamics

Chemistry – Thermochemistry, Thermodynamics, Mole Concept, Nuclear Chemistry, Colligative Properties, Solid State, Periodic table & properties and of course, reactions of organic chemistry

Preparation Tips

In addition to a robust revision process, candidates need to also prioritize the usual tips which are as follows –

# Practicing subject and topic-wise mock tests in a time-bound fashion. These are available free of cost online.

# Solving previous year question papers at least up to 2010 for understanding the paper pattern, syllabus, and key focal areas.

# Daily revision of important name-based reactions and mathematical formulae.

# Attempting mock tests and various test series released by popular coaching institutes. For Maths and Physics, practicing the exemplar problems given at the end of each chapter in the NCERT books is also a useful exercise.
