National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a JEE Main 2020 sample question paper for chemistry. The paper contains 5 numerical value type questions. This is the third sample questions set published by the agency; previously, one was published for numerical value questions (not specific to any subject), and the other was for section on planning.
JEE Main 2020 sample question paper of chemistry released today has these five questions.
First question is “The hardness of a water sample (in terms of equivalents of CaCO3) containing 10–3M CaSO4 is : (molar mass of CaSO4 = 136g/mol).”
The answer is 100 ppm.
Then the second question asks “50mL of 0.5M Oxalic Acid is needed to neutralize 25mL of sodium hydroxide solution. The amount of NaOH in 50mL of the given sodium hydroxide solution is __. ”
To which, the answer is 2g.
Thereafter the third question is “The standard electrode potential Eº and its temperature coefficient (dEº/dT)p for a cell are 2V and –5×10–4 VK–1 at 300K respectively. The cell reaction is Zn(s) + Cu2+(aq)→ Zn2+(aq) + Cu(s). The standard reaction enthalpy (ΔrHº) at 300K is _________________ kJ/mol (F= 96485 C mol-1 )”
Answer to the third question is -414.9.
Then the fourth question is “In the following reaction sequence, the mass percentage of carbon in the major product P is __”.

The answer is 87.18%.
Fifth and the last question is “The number of monochlorinated products obtained on chlorination of 2 methylbutane is __. ”
Answer to that is 4.
Engineering aspirants who have either applied for JEE Main 2020 January exam, or planning to appear in the April exam, can download the sample paper in pdf format from jeemain.nta.nic.in. To do so, they have to go to the website, and click the sample questions for chemistry link under current events section.
Application form submission for the Joint Entrance Examination closed on October 10, 2019. Thereafter registration window opened for five days, November 4 to 8, 2019, for Jammu Kashmir students. NTA will now release admit cards for all applicants on December 6, 2019. The exam is scheduled to be held from January 6 to 11, 2020.
This time JEE Main 2020 will have three different papers. One for engineering aspirants, one for architecture aspirants, and one for planning aspirants. The exam pattern of JEE Main has undergone major changes, and now each section in the engineering entrance exam will have numerical value type questions, in addition to MCQs; whereas earlier, the exam used to have only MCQs.
There will be three sections in the exam, physics, chemistry, mathematics. Each section will have 25 questions, of which 20 will be MCQs and 5 will be numerical value type questions. All questions will be of 4 marks, however negative marking of -1 shall apply only to MCQs.
All questions will be from the syllabus of JEE Main 2020 that has been provided at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Questions will be of 10+2 level.
