National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the JEE Main 2020 registration on Thursday, October 10, 2019. The “fill online application form” button, which is currently active at jeemain.nta.nic.in, will be removed at 11.50 on the last date. However the last date for successful final transaction of fee is October 11, 2019.
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2020 will be held twice for the academic session 2020-21; in January and April. Registrations for the first of the two exams were opened on September 3, 2019, and were supposed to end on September 30, 2019. However NTA decided to extend the deadline by ten days and thus October 10, 2019 became the new last date to apply for January exam. Registration for JEE Main April 2020 exam will open on February 7, 2020.
Besides extending the last date to apply, NTA has also changed the dates for corrections in application form. It may be noted that JEE Main 2020 application form correction facility will be available from October 14, 2019, to October 20, 2019. The one week window will be the only time when all candidates who have submitted their application forms can edit mistakes in their forms. After that, NTA will not give another chance.
Other dates for the JEE Mains remain unchanged – admit card will be released on December 6, 2019. Exam will be held from January 6, 2020, to January 11, 2020. On all the exam dates, the engineering entrance exam will be held in two shifts. First shift timings shall be 9.30 am to 12.30 pm, and second shift will be from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
Unlike some other exams where more than one exam dates mean that there will be slot booking, there is no slot booking facility in NTA JEE Mains. Instead, the agency itself shall allot exam dates at random to the candidate. Assigned date and shift are disclosed through admit cards.
Questions asked on all dates will be of equal level. Nevertheless, any difference in level between the different exam dates will be eliminated by the normalization process.
After a long time, major changes have been introduced to the engineering entrance exam. The JEE Main 2020 exam pattern has undergone a complete facelift.
