National Testing Agency (NTA) has published a sample question paper for the upcoming Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2020, for mathematics. This sample paper that has been published today contains 5 questions, that are examples of numerical value type questions.
For the first time in the history of JEE Main, the exam will feature non multiple choice type questions, that will go by the name of numerical value type questions. There will be 5 such questions in each of the three papers, physics, chemistry, mathematics, in the engineering entrance exam.
To allay the fears of students of facing such questions for the first time, NTA has up until now provided sample papers for all the three subjects. First it released the sample questions for physics, then chemistry, and now it has been released for mathematics.

Students who are going to appear in the JEE Main 2020 January or April exam, can try to solve these questions on their own first. They are all from the syllabus of the exam prescribed and available at jeemain.nta.nic.in. After solving, answers arrived at can be matched with the answers provided.
As per the sample paper, the answers to these questions are as follows.

Answer to Question no. 4 is: 49.
Answer to Question no. 5 is: 9.5.
NTA is going to conduct JEE Main January 2020 exam from January 6 to 9, 2020. Initially NTA had planned on holding the exam on six days, starting from January 6 to 11, 2020. However in the admit card released notice, NTA has informed that now exam will only be held on the first four dates. All candidates who had applied have already been issued their admit cards; the document became available for download last week, on December 6, 2019.
India’s largest engineering, architecture, planning entrance exam will be conducted in computer based test mode in 233 cities across the country.
There will be three different papers, one each for BE/B.Tech aspirants, B.Arch aspirants, and B.Planning aspirants.
The BE/B.Tech exam will have three papers, physics, chemistry, mathematics. Each will have 20 MCQs and 5 NV type questions. This exam will have 75 questions of 300 marks.
B.Arch paper will have mathematics part I, aptitude test part II, and drawing test part III. First will have 20 MCQs and 5 NVTs. Second will have 50 MCQs. And third section will have 2 drawing questions. This test will have 77 questions of 400 marks.
B.Planning entrance exam, another change in JEE Main 2020, will have mathematics part I with 20 MCQs 5 NVTs, aptitude test part II with 50 MCQs, and planning based objective type test with 25 MCQs. This paper will have 100 questions in all of 400 marks.
NTA shall announce JEE Main 2020 result by January 31, 2020. Yesterday, the result of IIFT 2020 was declared.
