Navodaya Vidyalaya Admit Card

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) is soon going to release the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2020 for class 6 admissions. As per the official notification that was released with the application form, the date of release of admit card was supposed to be December 1, 2020. However until now, NVS has not made any separate announcement regarding issuance of hall tickets.

A login link is active at navodaya.gov.in on the class 6 admissions page that is nvsadmissionclasssix.in/nvs6reg/homepage, which is the official website for JNVST 2020. However students have confirmed that they cannot see any admit card download link after logging in.

It is expected that the samiti will release admit card soon. Download link will either be provided separately on the website, or download facility will be activated within the same login that is available right now. Either ways, candidates shall need to use their usernames and passwords in order to obtain the document.

The selection test for class 6 admissions in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is scheduled to be held in two phases. Exam date for phase 1 is January 11, 2020. And that for phase 2 is April 11, 2020.

Call letter release dates are different for each. For phase it was supposed to be December 1, 2019, and for phase 2 it is March 1, 2020.

Each applicant is supposed to appear for the exam at the exam center indicated to him or her in the respective admit cards. NVS will not accept requests for centre change. Also, no candidate will be allowed to appear for the exam without admit card.

As far as the selection test is concerned, it will be a pen and paper mode exam with three tests; mental ability test, arithmetic test, and language test. Mental ability test will have 40 questions of 50 marks, to be completed in 1 hour. Then arithmetic test will have 20 questions of 25 marks, of 30 minutes duration. Language test shall also have 20 questions of 25 marks of 30 minutes time duration. So overall the test will have 80 questions of 100 marks, to be done in 2 hours.

A total of 27,77,504 students had registered for JNVST for Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti class 6 admissions last time. Maximum applications were from Bhopal, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Pune, Chandigarh, and Jaipur.

There was 72% attendance in the exam. NVS selected 46,400 students for admission to class 6 in 630 JNVs all over India.

It is interesting to note that back in 1985-86 session, only 6,253 candidates were selected, which has steadily grown to these numbers.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti is currently also accepting applications for class 9 lateral entry admissions. Interested and eligible students can apply online by December 10, 2019, at nvsadmissionclassnine.in. Selection test for class 9 admissions has been scheduled for Saturday, February 8, 2020. Last year 3,819 students were selected for admissions through lateral entry in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.
