Council of Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has today, May 02, 2022, successfully conducted the ISC Class 12 Semester 2 examination for English – Paper 2 (Literature in English). The paper was held for a duration of 1 hour 30 minutes i.e., from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. The paper was held offline, at affiliated schools across the country. Unlike semester 1 which was entirely objective in nature, the semester 2 exam covered both objective and subjective-based questions.
CISCE will soon release the official answer key for ISC Class 12 English Literature Semester 2 exam. It will most likely be released in PDF format on the official website cisce.org. In the meantime, however, students can take a look at the unofficial answer keys uploaded by educators online. Some have also uploaded video-based solutions on their YouTube channel.

The English Literature paper covered both objective and subjective questions. Hence, students cannot directly determine their scores. However, the video-based solutions uploaded by educators specify the key criteria to judge each question. Students can make a note of these criteria and accordingly, determine their tentative score.
ISC English Literature 2022 Syllabus
According to the bifurcated syllabus uploaded by CISCE. Today’s ISC English Literature semester 2 paper covered portions from three textbooks – 1. The Tempest: William Shakespeare, 2. Echoes: A Collection of ISC Short Stories and 3. Reverie: A Collection of ISC Poems. Held for a duration of 90 minutes, the paper covered questions worth 40 marks. Paper 1 covering composition-based questions was held on April 26, 2022.
Paper Analysis
Today’s ISC English Literature semester 2 paper was briefly based on the specimen paper uploaded by CISCE. If one observes the specimen paper, he/she could easily assert that it is divided into two sections – Section A and Section B. Section A covers multiple-choice questions worth 8 marks. Section B covers theory-based questions worth 32 marks.
After the ISC English Paper 2 exam, the next exam for Economics will be held on Thursday, May 05, 2022. Again, the duration of the exam and paper pattern will remain the same.
